I'm not looking for anything but for answers to questions that you seem to be unwilling or unable to answer and if you a "Quran Scholar" don't even know the answers to these simple, even "childish" questions, how do you expect anyone else to find them. Many times now in other threads you have asked me if I'm "afraid" to look into Islam and see what it has to offer but so far all I seem to see is a Muslim that is afraid to have his faith looked at. So how about this.... you just answer the questions and quit trying to weasel out of it.
A muslim and a christian were in a bar when a naked blonde walks in with a poodle wearing a burqa under one arm, and a two-foot salami under the other. The muslim says, "can I buy you and your girl freind a drink?." Naked lady says "sure". Christian says, "you're in the wrong joke lady, but least youre not wearing a burqa".. Naked lady says "thats why I carry the salami".... :coffee:
never claimed to be a scholar, not of the Bible or the Quran ...did not suggest you were afraid of looking into Islam and never really invited you to Islam either. is that what you thought i was doing ? is that what got you all afraid and defensive ? if you want the answers you'll find them. meanwhile, lets get back on the Bible Questions (or Questioning the Bible)
But shouldn't a Muslim be concerned for non-Muslims? If the fate of non-Muslims is bleak without Allah, then isn't that a reason for concern?
If you are referring to me, God accepts payment only in blood. Not every one who says to me lord lord shall enter but those who do the will of the father.
Al-Baqara Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from Error; whoever rejects tâghût (worshipping other than Allah) and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (256)
I'm not suggesting that it should be enforced only that there should be a reason why people turn to Allah and know that he is the one and true God Perhaps I am lost and confused and don't understand. The truth stands clear from error, but how do I know if the truth is contained in the Qur'an other than the Qur'an saying so? I read the Qur'an; I started to believe but then I read about hellfire and among other things that didn't settle right with me so I changed my perspective on it What could you say to direct me to seeing the truth more clearly?
The coincidence of my entire statement, the true measure of faith cannot be found in books, but in the words and actions we accord each other, can be found in your post #92. What I mean by payment in blood, is the whole investment of our lives.
A book contains descriptions, but these descriptions do not contain the vessel of life. A book has no pulse. You may be told as you come into this world the child of your parents but that does not account for the real course of ones life. It is the living that counts.
i reckon you don't always play it safe. for every action you take, there are consequences and you know it ..even when crossing a street, but you calculate risks and make an informed decision. if you believe in life after death, you're already a step closer and regardless whether you're reading the Torah, Injeel or the Quran ..hellfire's there to stay (but there's also the other side), so long as you're concious and want to seek truth, you'll find it and always find help around for guidance ..
books are there for guidance, pretty much like the instruction manuals for every little thing that we use. life's so much more complicated ...by no means am i discounting the importance of words and actions, we accord to each other and respect life around, but there was life before us and will be after. much of life has been subject to disasters, including the killing of the Prophets (there's been very few books, compared to the Prophets who were sent as guides) as for investment of our lives ..do you believe our life on earth, to be it ?
It demonstrates itself to be a temporal imperative that supersedes any beliefs I have about the past or future.
no i wasn't i was talkn to the people on the first few pages and idk wtf you are talkn about i've read the qur'an and studied it, this thread makes me chuckle
