I think everyone knows that, that dude wasn't born on Christmas. It was the day before Christmas that he was born.
Peace, and bigger boobs for all. Speaking of knockers, I'm thinking of breast reduction surgery. So, if I ever get it I'll ask the doctors to spare me some boob fat to give to you. It's my gift to you.
a world at peace and a place to live, with unlimited internet that won't flake out on me. i can think of a lot of other things i would like to have on general principals, a very long list. some i would want for my self, i'm no saint. but there's nothing i wouldn't want anyone else to not be able to enjoy the same thing. to not have to own land or a car to live and build as i would wish to and that really involves all living things having most if not all, of the same rights to exist. i want to see people stop hating the strange, the unknown and the 'other'
there ARE other faiths that have other gift giving and feast days. why would that not work out? when i was growing up, we never had our christmas ON christmas day, because my dad almost always had to work that day. which thanks to having a strong trade union, meant he got paid double time and a half for doing so. and because he did, was the only reason he was able to give my mom or me anything. so no one really cried about it. you CAN give gifts ANY time. the solsitices and equanoxes are good ones. along with birthdays and aniversaries.
I thought she meant there was no gift giving at all, on any given day. I know there are other holidays that don't have gift giving, but I thiought her holiday was one that for the most part has gift giving. So, I wondered how it worked out as a kid knowing friends got gifts on the same celebrated holiday, while gifts weren't given in that household. The comment reminded me of something I once read of this girl who only got gender neutral gifts. And one day she was caught playing with her friend's dolls that she let her borrow. When the parents caught her she exclaimed that she wanted dolls for several years. It's kind of unrelated, but it made me think of that.
"dolls" don't have to be 'gender' related. that is a cultural perception. nor, on the other paw, do mechanical or technological things. plushies and costuming certainly aren't. and neither is wilderness, nor non-human friends, physical or otherwise. the only way any gift is not gender neutral is cultural perceptions. my personal androginy hates sports and soap operas equally.
What the contestants of the Miss America Pageant always say they want: world peace, equality for all, and my very own apartment.
I think the point of the reading was to prove that you can't raise a child as a gender neutral. They will alway lean towards the culturally corresponding gender that sex has. But, yea... I agree with you. A doll isn't particularly a male or female. It's just associated with females. I thought the reading wasn't taking into account a lot of other elements. For example, the child being exposed to other girls, such as the girl's friends that were given toys associated with females. The girl may have simply wanted the dolls to be more like her friends. Not so much because she knew her gender that her sex is.
Yeah, well...I get a check to buy what i want...i give a check to buy what they want...What is the point?
For you, and only for you... I'll let you have me. Or I can give you my boob fat, and we can call it a day.
I said that? Materialistically, i cannot think of anything I want really.....I talk myself into buying things all year that i see sometimes as it is...That is not fulfilling really.....
I like to give little tolkens to friends and neighbors that make me think of them....and show I was thinking about them......I need to pour alot into my brother this year to start his new life with the girl he will be marrying in Nov or Dec...they are not sure when yet.
