My partner, Laura, my Laura she wants another German Shepherd Puppy. I've done everything I could in preparation for its arrival but we aren't sure when we will get it. She wants it by Xmas. That means realistically it'll be born now, or very soon and we don't know any reputable breeders who have litters at the moment so it may have to wait. Other gift ideas I have for her are a Denver bronco jersey with "Jocelyns" written on the back and she also would like a kitchen aid. I don't know why seeing as I do all the kitchen work but then again I wouldn't mind the kitchen aid either and a set of really good awesome scales.
I dont want anything. My boyfriend and i usually get each other a little token gift, last year he bought me a Harry Potter coloring book and i bought him..something. i cant remember lol And my mom and my sister and i get each other a small gift, usually a sweater or something. Other than that i dont want or expect gifts from anyone. The whole commercialism thing annoys me. Hey lets celebrate Jesus, someone some of us dont even worship, by buying each other a bunch of overpriced shit made in China! And lets get reaaallly stressed about it in the process! I have become a little bit less of a grinch since i have a little one though. I just like being with my family and eating food. Christmas has been kinda sad the last few years since my great aunt died. She hosted a Christmas Eve party for my extended family. She did it every year for 60 years. Christmas eve feels kinda empty now Sorry for my tangent
I totally relate to this. Middle age is upon me and I don't really care about gifts anymore, but food is another story. Sometime in my 30s Thanksgiving started being more important to me than Christmas because of the food aspect.
This is the best quarter of the year though. Season of the Pumpkin and then season of Yule. creeps and snow!
I'm sorry about your aunt. It suck losing someone, but losing someone during the holidays, or someone that was a great contributor to the holidays is a lot harder. My thoughts on Christmas, and gifting is that it's more for the children. I mean it's nice for us adults, but not so much for the gifting aspect. It's more about family gatherings, the food, the atmosphere, etc, I must rather get a gift on my birthday, though. However, if I really want something I'll just get it myself. I'm a big girl. Kind of. I can do it myself. I recently bought a holiday makeup palette set. I should be getting it tomorrow, or the day after. I wonder if my makeup thread is dead. Maybe I'll post pictures of it. Anyways, don't be sorry. I always enjoy your posts.
I would talk about how Jesus was not born on December 25th and all of the commercialization of it. Also the greed and obligation. But I won't cause ain't nobody got time for thatt
Not that quick! I don't need to hear about Christmas constantly for a quarter of the year, it's one blasted day. It's really to the point where I want to murder someone every time I hear a Christmas Carol once December rolls around because I've already been hearing about it for 2 months or more! And hell I actually celebrate Christmas, can you imagine how the poor fuckers that don't must feel?
