for people to start calling it midwinter's eve, instead of using it as an excuse to be chauvanistic about their beliefs. by that i don't mean there's anything wrong with anyone not having thought about that. or thought about it like that. but that is one of the things i'd like to 'get'(/see happen).

they wouldn't have to stop giving each other stuff, but it would be nice if giving each other stuff were to be actually about giving, instead of trying to make a buck off of each other.

as for the guy who channeled big, friendly and invissible 2000 and some odd years ago, he was probably actually born on a day much closer to the one we cellibrated yesterday! and it would be wonderful if we actually did things that made as much sense as cellibrating that on it's more probable day to have occured.

mellow out music taking the place of cleche' music would be wonderful and great too.
