If Bush is elected, we'll spin the wheel of countries, and see which Middle Eastern theocracy we invade next. Could it be...Sudan? Or maybe our foe, Iran? Or maybe we'll fake out the Muslim world by nukin Israel?! All this and more in the next Bush term!

Uh by 1972, most of the hippy movement was dead pal. Johnson had to deal with it at it's peak, at least Nixon paved the way to get out of Nam. I am afraid of Kerry and Nader, i don't want to see ANY socialism in our country.

uh, what are you talking about? i really dont see how this country could get much worse, the longer Bush is in office the sooner he gets to his dream of being a totalitarian dictator and controlling the worlds oil supply

you cannot leave iraq now, duh!!!!!!!!! After you level the country to the ground and establish a new regime, you cant just leave the country and allow them to police and take care of themselves. That is even worse than the initial invading of the country. You have to help rebuild the country, and that is what Kerry is planning on doing.

That's way more socialism than we need. The whole social security thing is a joke. If you could use the money you pay in taxes for that for your own retirement, you'd do much better. But fuckwads are too dumb to save so we sorta need it i suppose.

Sadly, the odds are slim that either party will do it, although the odds are probably higher under a willing democrat, just as republicans never would have been able to pass welfare reform. That's the funny irony of the system.

I do believe it would work however, if the fuckwads in Chile and Poland can figure it out I'm quite confident our own fuckwads can manage.

Way to stereotype. I suppose that proves how "bright" you are.

Hmmm.... I don't think we exactly leveled the country to the ground. However, things are a lot worse than before we invaded it. The place was no paradise before we invaded it, though.

Kerry is planning on rebuilding the country?

Yeah, so? So is Bush. It's not working, though, because things are being done to undermine the progression of the rebuilding by the insurgents. This should be expected, though. They don't want us there, don't you get it?

How do you think Kerry is going to handle the situation better when things are as fucked up as they are, with absolutely no signs of the situation getting any better anytime soon?

People should understand that the situation in Iraq is not going to get any better. How many more lives need to be lost before people wake up and realize what a big mistake was made?

There is no question it was a mistake going to Iraq, but because we fucked up, we are obligated to fix the situation. We can diminish the amount of lost lives in the future though through gaining alliances and increasing international support in the area. The more improvements the Iraqi nation sees the more likely that civil Iraqi's will join the fight against 'mad' militias.

Kerry can make in roads if he is smart. Bush has screwed any of his chances of progress due to A. allowing Rumsfeld to remain in office and B. not admitting to his mistakes. The best leaders I've ever had in life, no matter what the circumstance, have understood the importance of 'me aculpa' (sp)

    Kerry needs to:

First, FAST TRACK, the establishment of a Palestinian state. This should be the primary focus of his foriegn policy for the first six months he takes office. Second - admit to the world we were (sorta) wrong. Admit that our intelligence was faulty and we should never have invaded without the support of the UN, but also drive home the fact that yes, Saddam was an evil man and he needed to be removed (if for only to save a little US face and I stress little). Third, make motions to re-visit Geneva policies - setting even more rigid guidelines regarding prisoner treatment and civilian occupation practices during wartime.

The US has completely lost international credability during Bush's term. As long as he is in office, international credability will not return. A fresh start could do wonders for this and it is the right choice for America today.

Kerry simple needs to state, YES WE FUCKED UP, WE WILL FOOT THE BILL TO FIX IT, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. No nation other than our own should invest a dime in rebuilding Iraq, we need to invite help and finance it at the cost of increasing our deficit because we screwed up.

establish a palestinian state, i agree completely, actually i think we shouldnt have stolen their land in the first place, but giving them a state back would be a good first step.

BUT, all the christians would start screaming "oh god the apocalypse is coming, the prophecy has been fulfilled" and all other sorts of bullshit. Yes, they believe that once a palestinian state is created, there is only 7 years left before the big apocalypse battle. hopefully the open minded christian segment would have grown enough to inject enough sense into the debate, but I doubt that happening.

For sure, more conservatives on the Supreme Court. And that would be a legacy the country would feel for a generation, maybe two.

I believe Nixon first term was 1968. But your right the movement started in the early sixties. I'm sure there are people that would argue and say it started before.

Ken Kesey took that amazing bus trip in 63.

I disagree there so much press in Iraq now we hear everything. When Saddam was running the place, he ran the press so we have no real idea what was going on. I'M just happy that through sacrifice( forced on them ) the iraqi people have more access to the outside world. Have more freedom to live there lives the way they want. It may look troubled now but you have to to expect it. So much hate there for the west and surounded by countries the don't particularly like us either.
