The legal status of a substance does not have any affect on whether or not it is considered a 'drug'.

The legal definition of a "drug" is different then the common usage. Legally, lsd, marijuana, heroin or anything that is a schedule 1 controlled substance is not a drug because it is not "intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man or other animals" as per what is classified by the FDA as a drug. Salvia is not federally scheduled as a controlled substance and it is also not approved as a drug by the FDA so legally it is not a drug. The DEA enforces what are government approved "drugs" (hence their name, drug enforcement agency) and tries to eliminate any competing "unapproved substances".

I think that it is kinda ridiculous that they censored the videos. However, by saying that it's ridiculous to censor drug-related videos, you'd also have to allow pornographic uploads. I don't have a problem with this, but really, they're letting people upload content that violates the rules, why shouldn't they allow other 'illegal' content.

That said, I'm completely any and all censorship.

What if they had one site for like conservatives and stuff, where they could still go and watch Kittens Frollicking in Meadows, and all that stuff, but then another youtube site where the rest of the world could go there and see a wider variety of content.

Considering the kinds of videos that haven't been banned, i'm not sure how effective this "statement" is. I'm completely okay with adults choosing to show themselves making adult choices to take salvia (which is NOT illegal in most states, btw) and would only see a purpose in banning videos of kids under the influence of a substance.
