I would not play music for a gay wedding . However , I would happily play again and again for a wedding in the forest twixt an ancient old hippie man and his 22 year young tripping hippy bride . I must be inspired . Just so , and as a drum-maker , I may very well decine to make a drum for someone who will just hang it on a wall . Sue me , sue you , Suzie ! An artist has the right to be spiritual . By the way , I do not encourage homosexuality as a solution to over-population . And when I note the crusty gay guys at the bar are recruiting a pretty college boy - I'll cuss 'em . Damn - got 86'd from that place .
And the outcome? Why do you find presenting current events a waste of time but not past history? And what was the outcome in the case of the police and the photographer?
The bill in Georgia appears to have been pushed further back on the legislative schedule, because of heavy national backlash against Indiana for its similar new law. Indiana is frantically working on an amendment that will water down the impact of the original bill, before more serious economic damage is done. Also, the NC legislature has sidetracked a similar bill after the governor said he would veto it if it passes. It seems that the will of the American people is being heard, and state legislators are paying attention.
I get tired of doing all the research. You asked for an example and I gave one, now you want to know the outcomes, then you'll want ramifications, challenges, polls, opinions, etc. Look it up. I'll relate one, you look up the others. In the Rankin County School District a teacher was approached by a student who wanted to start a club for a Gay-Straight Alliance. The purpose of the student club would be combating anti-gay discrimination and bullying in schools. Several districts in the area have such clubs. The Rankin County Mississippi School district had already been embroiled in controversy. In 2014 they forced students to attend a student sponsored Christian assembly, you can find the video on You Tube if you want. Result: This time the superintendent sought legal means to limit the proposed club, but couldn't find any, so he established a rule that required a signed parental permission for the students to join, if the students or parents refused the building principals could then do whatever they want in regards to the club. As of now a group of students have initiated a club but it is not yet official. The ACLU has protested and The Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition as of January lists the ruling as pending.

All of the commonly quoted anti-homosexual verses are also from the Old Testament, as are all the lines used to "prove" that black people are inferior and / or under divine punishment.
Just to clarify, I didn't write that thing I quoted. The link to the page I got it from is at the bottom of that post. Just not wanting to get people thinking I wrote that and starting any issues with the original writer of the piece. .
If you're going to use religion to discriminate against people, you should have to be able to prove to a judge that your religious views are at least cohesive. If you head into court and your defense is that the Bible says something, you should then be held accountable for following everything else the Bible says. You can't just be spiteful and say it's religious.
I only object to religion when it interferes with progress .....and tells people how to live their lives.......obstacle for stem cell research.....obstacle for this that and the other thing.....it is fine if people wnat to be religious and follow their own religions quietly...but when it interferes and tries to be the voice for everyone, it is dangerous and insidious ....that was only my ever objection....plus that it is tax free.....what else does it want from everyone?
Here's a new article interviewing H.P. Dusty Dionne. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/03/31/mike-pence-s-new-fan-club-wiccans.html?via=desktop&source=twitter
The backlash continues. A very similar bill in Arkansas is going to be vetoed if it is passed, according to the governor. He caved in to pressure from large businesses today, especially Wal-Mart, which saw the bill as a potential source of all kinds of problems. Its corporate headquarters is located in Arkansas. The governor initially said he would sign it.
Does anybody feel that the Republicans know they are going off the deep end, yet they don't care. I wonder when the voters are going to wake up... or does Faux News have to go off the air first? I think this country is about to have a meltdown, seriously!
Imagine Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one - John Lennon
Imagine that, but when awake it is best to deal with the realities of life and living among billions of others who also imagine things. Lennon was probably thinking more realistically when he wrote the lyrics to "Give Peace a Chance" and "Taxman".
Yeah, some of us (including me) have to work every day with people who love to imagine a world with no liberals in it.
