materialism and commercialism.. I don't know, maybe those "punkers" who play they're punkers but aren't, you know, those like Avril's fans who pleased their parents to buy a red hair color.. :D but those aren't punkers, so it can seem like punk's dead, but if you visited some REAL punk action, as here, in Czech rep., is every year punk festival called Antifest.. you'd see that punk's not dead! :)

perhaps... yet the very thing punks try to achieve, on their own mind you, is not a thing that can be achieved through the exclusion of other facets of society. one must include the bankers and stockbrokers, the hippies and right-wing radicals into one group if they are ever going to incite mass social reform... these labels serve no other purpose than further dividing these sects, thus making reform virtually impossible...

I think punk rockers are cool as hell. The only beef that I have with them is that some of them (mostly skinheads) hate hippies. Other than that they're cool. I like the fashion because to me having a mohawk (or whatever they look like) is like screaming "fuck you" at the system.

yes but the same can be said about any ''counter-culture''
metalheads,punks,hip-hop,alternative rock, rivetheads, goths whatever, even hippy culture
the vitality of the culture lies in the people who honestly keep it alive
not the poseurs, the sell-outs or even the elitists
its with the people who make it a lifestyle, a community
    a culture
    am i rambling?

that is true, but why have these divisions? maybe punks and goths and hippies dont listen to the same songs or have the same eccentricities, but don't they all want basicallt the same thing? (that is excluding the poseurs)

ok, yeah, skinheads.. ah, I don't really like them, but they're still not so bad as nazis.. but skins are not punkers.. that's a bit different culture, I'd say.. so.. I really don't understand why people say "punkers hate hippies". Why?! Punkers, in a way, want the same as hippies do.. so what's going on? :H

    i agree
all the divisions are kind of pointless i mean we are all sorta walking out of step with society, trying to be true to ourselves, individuals
    you know what i mean?
