I usually keep getting a bit louder and they'll quit. Unless it's someone with a mental deficiency that doesn't deserve to be treated poorly; then I don't sweat it.
Today someone notified me that some former friends were discussing my hair "have you seen her hair?" apparently they think the natural dreadlock process is disgusting. They're open to their opinions. Still is a sad moment to know.
dude, tell them about the 'dready hierarchy'. when people ask me how i did mine up i tend to go into that, explaining that there are several ways and i'm pretty much at the bottom of the totem pole, just above SERIOUS CHEMICAL WARFARE ON MY HAIR YO. but seriously, explain it to them in a way where they'll understand that natural dreads are totally a testament of patience and they pretty much turn out the gnarliest. maybe they'll understand you better then. besides, there's a reason they're former friends, from what you're saying.
I laughed when someone told me about it. Because it's hair... I'm not vain and don't mind my hair looking like a rats nest. I'm patient. I wasn't always that way tho.
Wild flowers, you are very obsessive. I think that your dreads would turn out way better if you kept them on your head, not in it.
I think he means that you've never had locks very long, and you've always made the MOST threads of just about anyone here. I think I made two threads: one with my hair, one with my hair cut. You've been making threads since before your first set of locks, between sets, and still. Stop thinking about your head, and make a thread in 6 months, or better yet, 16 months. Thinking about em' won't speed it up any. It will just make it feel reaaaaaalllllllyyyyy slow. So some douchebag's a douchebag about your hair: explain it to them once in simpletons terms, and if they don't understand, don't worry about them.
