What do you love about where you are?

Surprisingly, I love this place.

Quite alot of greenery.
Fairly close to London and various good towns/cities.
Same town as another forumer. lol.

Seriously, they think the local hippies are nuts, but the people from New York are just bizarre! I haven't been here long, but the relocated New Yorkers are some of the weirdest people I know. When I moved out here, I looked at a cottage in Kerhonkson. The landlords were locals, but the neighbors were New Yorkers, and the landlords had all these crazy rules to avoid irritating the neighbors, who must have been pretty easily offended. I wanted to ask her, who would you be renting to, them or me? She couldn't understand why no one wanted to rent the cottage. But who'd want to live next to such crazy, needy, demanding and offendable neighbors? Why would anyone put up with that? When I asked her why I should rent somewhere where my kids couldn't have friends over, where I couldn't work from home, where I'd have to keep the shades drawn on one side of the house, all she'd say is, "Well, they're from New York! " SO?!? I might have understood it if they were from say, Transylvania, but come on! That kind of reclusiveness is just creepy.

I think the woman should have told them that if they're so offended by the neighborhood then they should just pack it up and go back to the city. Glad I didn't rent from her.

I've lived in TN for 31 years. I was born and raised in Indiana. I love it here, but have been feeling restless lately.
