Hello, well, it's not that I want things for free or that I am a cheap bastard . I don't like spending money for things that I don't need, like DVDs or a teev or shoes with a certain kind of stripes on it etc. Regards Gyro
Well I actually think it can be great and even a better value to get certain things for free. Like perfectly good fruit that's just going to rot otherwise, it tends to be much better than grocery store produce. Or things that get thrown away from stores just because they don't have room for them or the store is going out of business...like clothes, crafting supplies and hardware and stuff...that happens too often.
Hello, yepp, very true. I think there is little to no hunger problem in the world, it's mostly a distribution problem. Regards Gyro
Right on man...I am so glad you see you say that. It's totally true. And a lot of skewed nutritional misinformation, where people think there is better value in food products and shun actual food. But I'll get off that subject for now.
I don't have much "expendable income"... actually I have very little income at all, but when I can I like buying surplus electronics for the studio and/or used musical gear. I used to do a lot more of this and did a lot of modifying/building/soldering etc. etc. I also enjoy the occasional "ultimate find" at thrift stores, be it furniture, household items, clothing (mostly leather pieces like jackets or vests) or electrical stuff (again for the studio most of the time) I see it as a form of recycling or "re-use"... My money goes further as well. I find many new items to be over priced and not as good a quality these days.
Hello, about one forth of all food is thrown away by the consumers in my country because of the 'best before' date. It is phrased in such a way that people tend to think the food is uneatable then. Regards Gyro
As a whole I believe we throw away about 1/2 of the food produced on the planet... I read that somewhere recently. Some is past date, some is damaged and some just doesn't look nice enough to sell. Wasteful lot, we humans....
I spend an ungodly amount on dining out, alcohol, drugs, cars, tools, hookers and women in general. So I guess that lol
