When I lived in the US, winter snow was fun. Not having leaves on the trees six months of the year..not so much fun. Things I love to do after a good snow; go skiing!!! ride plastic sleds down the hills towing all the neighbor kids in plastic sleds behind the horse sleigh trail riding through the hills (bareback, for horse body heat) Camp by the horse pasture in a sleeping bag stuffed inside another one to watch meteor showers at night..clear sky and no stinging insects! I could hear owls, fox barks and other animal and bird sounds all night. Heavenly! Never mind the song, "What Does the Fox Say?" I knew what it said! (Ylvis http://t.co/FkacBHyzpg) Great excuse to snuggle up and exchange foot rubs with a loved one Great excuse to read a good book Get some sewing done, make my wardrobe. go to movies go to plays snuggle in a heated waterbed at night read/follow wild animal tracks through the woods in the morning 1-31-09, female Red Fox tracks :2thumbsup:
Snort! True, that! I can be generous because I don't have to endure winter cold anymore. It's Dec. 23 here in Thailand, and 82 degrees F
:2thumbsup: I like to take walks in the still of snow. Snowboard. Make a fire a cozy up outside. Smoke massive amounts of reefer. And more. I used to love going into manhattan in the winter, something about NYC in general in the winter.
I'm not sure, I'm not so busy with that stuff. I was more thinking of food related consumptions (and something to :sifone: naturally)!
Hello, ah, oh . Well, because of that growing lights I thought harvest time for :sifone: is all over the year? Regards Gyro
Hello, I think I can speak for most people here when I say that I'm quite optimistic that you're not as furry and not as smelly as a bear . Regards Gyro
That's true, so I am mainly consuming  (I don't use growing lights myself). I was mainly thinking about food when I made that first post as originally (harsh) winters are all about being prepared and enjoy your time inside as much as you can (by munching on the stuff you would have been busy with most of spring, summer and autumn ). But yeah, we now don't have to harvest any provisions ourselves necessarily and also can enjoy the time outside to greater extent so it doesn't really go up anymore I guess.. Probably the reason why a lot of people on this forum didn't saw any point or joy in thanksgiving anymore
See, people in medieval parts of Europe still understand what winter is for :2thumbsup: I don't want to tease Piaf too much but I just have to ask: on what are you basing this? :mickey:
Hello, As a child I lived in a rural area. I remember all the good stuff in the cellar and on the attic: apples, conserves with fruits, pickles, sausages. Nowadays most people, including me, have food for only a few days at home. In case of a natural disaster or some other fuckup luting begins rather quick... Regards Gyro
Hello, ohohoh, I can see you dying a loooong and painfull death . Regards Gyro PS: I can't remember which scent Piaf is using. But it was nice IIRC.
Yes, I can't really describe myself as a 'prepper' neither In case of a natural disaster I might head off to my parents  although, since they are living below sea level it would depend on the kind of natural disaster here of course
Medieval? We are very advanced and modern, I'll have you know :-/ I have a weakness for perfumes. I have at least three at any given moment. So, if anyone is wondering what to get me....
it rarely snows here but it is perfect hiking weather so I like to hike a lot in the winter. I also like to have campfires. I switch to dark, heavy beers. I like the way trees look without leaves so I end up taking a lot of pictures of trees. Sometimes I bake. I make a lot of soups. I give myself license to be lazy occassionally. That's about it.
Hello, better bring your swimming gear . I'm unsure what I should think about preppers. On one hand I find that lifestyle interesting and conserving old and simple techniques is a good thing. On the other hand some preppers seem to be a little bit over the top (at least for me). Regards Gyro
Hello, what's the best way to get blood stains out of shirts ? Ah, you want to be mysterious . Can you whisper some names? I will not tell them anyone . Regards Gyro
