I still remember my first meal with my now wife, it was at KFC and she found it cute that I was pinching chips and popcorn chicken from her KFC box. See to me that meant nothing, large family like mine you grab whatever you can, I saw chips and popcorn chicken, I took them from her.

When I get a Boyfriend he is getting Beans on toast and Beer and wodka !

 

When Jane and I invite new friends for a meal, we mostly start with an informal lunch and prepare a cold buffet with plenty of choice.
It gives us the opportunity to chat with them before inviting them to a more formal dinner and discover if any of them are vegetarian or have any allergies.

Incidentally, they do have something with eggplant and tofu at Panda Express at least some of the time. I had it the other day. I think it's a staple in Chinese cooking, but don't quote me on that.
