Queens is really nice. Inexpensive if you get roomates. Short commute to Manhattan (20min). Every kind of food you could imagine and authentic. Weed is everywhere upstate. The closer to vt and canada you go the better.
chicago is sooo nice. id say its cleaner than nyc and quieter. but nyc has chicago beat. best skyline in the world. best food. most jobs. diversity. and fucking bob dylan lives in nyc lol
you should visit both or a few places and see what you think. although it takes more than a night or two to get a feel for a place, you can get a better idea.
do college first. getting on-campus housing (aka dorms) and meet people there/study/party/whatever. after your first year it'll be a LOT easier to find housing and work all that out since you'll know people who are also looking for housing (from school)
Yea, i would be the one to be like "Ooooh i don't like it here." So im just gunna go to this place and just like choose somewheres else. Lol.
I have considered living in dorms but i don't know about any colleges up there? Are there like dorms with someone already there and like i can just room with someone there?
lol that's why you visit the college first. i don't really understand what you're saying with the dorm thing... like are you asking if you can just live in the dorms and not go to school? if so, i don't think you can do that but i can be wrong. i think you should get in college asap though, and not wait too long (if at all). the longer you wait, the less you're going to want to actually go. plus when you get there you're going to be older than everyone (say you wait 2 years, you go to a 4 year school which makes you stay in the dorms freshmen year, you're 20 and your roomie is 18.. kinda strange)
Chicago is awesome, and you will have just as many jobs open to you as NYC if you know where to look. NYC has a better night life for the most part, but there are plenty of clubs in chicago if that is your thing. Chicago and NYC are comparable in terms of diversity, you will find people of all ethnicities from all over the world. Chicago also has quite a few nice colleges and community colleges. I might be biased because I live in IL and am definitely thinking about Chicago for college, but it is a fucking awesome city. One thing NYC has though is decriminalization of an ounce of pot, and chicago does not though you still have to watch out in NYC or else you might end up with a fine. I like Chicago better though as besides being a great city itself, the suburbs are some of the nicest in the nation, and with nice suburbs comes AMAZING dank at prices a little bit cheaper than Chitown It all really depends though on where you would want to live in the north though as the midwest and northeast are quite different haha.
don't move to NYC unless you got mad dollaz for teh buds... and everything else for that matter i live smack between philly and NYC and we pay 60-70 for an eighth (and no that's not because i have shitty connects, that's just the way shit is). i couldn't even imagine NYC... although they do have the delivery service :sifone:
Well chicago is sounding nice. I will visit first of course. As of night life i definatly like to go out and have a bit of party time but with schooling i will have my time for studying and i will have a part time job. What colleges in Chicago are good? Yea, i don't have like mad dollas.. Im going to be fresh out of high school going to wherever... haha... I'm going to tell you what i want. I want to be a sonogrpaher so i only need for years to be a sonographer i have to x-ray then sonography... any college ideas?
I was saying like if i go to college would they like set me up with a rommie already? That is true i wouldn't want to be 20 with someone thats 18....
yes, if you choose to live in the dorms you have the option of picking your roommate (if you know someone) or just getting someone random.
off the top of my head, i do not know but this would be an excellent thing to research when you're bored!
Yea, i think thats what im going to do now. Do you know what parts of chicago like a city or something?
i know nothing about chicago... haha i live near philly and NYC. ask babyjay or connor, they know lotz more than me!
im turning 18 soon (enough) and im moving to Rotterdam, already have my plane ticket. From there I'll have 400€ to last me till I get a job, im going to squat and live that way. Squatting laws in the Netherlands are excellent, after that im just going to see what happens and wing it
