chicken flavored ready rice with cream of chicken gravy. that was breakfast.

hungry again now, though i had corn and veeners for lunch too.

might do a chicken and mash, that would be easy.

and i'll probably have a mocha while i'm thinking about it.

My wife cooked a yellow fin tuna for dinner last night-----whatever she makes is really good-----but we hadn't had yellow fin in a while and it was very good.

While my brother was here he made a sauce for cocktail weenies that was simple and tasty. It goes:

2 cans of jellied cranberry sauce
    ¼ cup of brown sugar
5 oz. bottle of A-1 sauce
    2 packages of Lit'l Smokies

Mix the first three ingredients in a crock pot and then add the Lit'l Smokies. Heat it up.

Warm whole wheat pita bread, with fig jam. Too good for words.

  5. Hey did you ever try lokum/Turkish delight?
It's very common here, and I am always interested in how people who are not used to it like it.
I can see it go both ways. So I wonder.

You seem interested in middle eastern/turkish cuisines, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm not a fan of Turkish delight, to be honest. I think it's the texture that gets me. lol From learning about my middle eastern heritage, I definitely have taken on more of an interest in the cuisine, although, I've always loved it. To me, I could eat that every day.

I had some tepid oatmeal with cranberries at a restaurant. Wasn't impressed with that, but the wheat toast that came with it was a treat! Also, there were roasted potatoes seasoned in such a way that they truly were delicious!

  8. Yeah, Turkish delight is acquired taste, I think.
Like I said - I can see why people may not enjoy it.
I love it though, especially rose flavoured
A lil piece goes perfectly with Turkish coffee.

I have a bunch of Turkish delight in my fridge. I like it, but only like, one piece per 6 months.

The one I currently have is pistachio, I believe.
