Did you know you can bake a potato in the microwave? Well now you know. :)

Baked Potatos (two small ones) & sour cream. Delicious!

i cook everything in the micro-wave.
the trick is to use a blast shield,
so you don't have to clean it off the oven cavity when it blows up,
and can even still eat it.

two kinds of things people say not to cook in them,
and this does make sense, things that have an impervious shell or skin,
this is what builds up pressure and causes them to explode,
and things that have to be slow cooked because they won't cook quickly no matter what.

couple of easy solutions to both, (besides the 'blast shield' already mentioned),
is to remove what ever skin or shell would otherwise cause blast pressure to build up in them.
(my mom always split sausages and wieners, even when she boiled them, which she sort of did everything).

the other things like chicken and fish, you just have to cook in stages.
give them a few minuets, let them rest, give them a few more and so on,
unless you have a micro in which you can just slow cook things using low power anyway.

of course there's not much point in using a microwave in the latter case,
unless, like me, you physically have no space, for more then one cooking device.

I took to work today a Tupperware filled with DW's leftover lasagna from last night.

Yummy. It's one of those dishes that's almost better the second time around. I ate it cold. I swear it was even better that way. Drizzled some Sriracha on it. Chased it with a cold beer, since I had no flights this afternoon.

    Mmmmm.......

    While on this topic..

What's up with adult women who can't or won't cook?

I'm all for equal rights and I help DW around the house all the time.

But I'd never marry a woman who proudly or arrogantly stated she didn't cook.

That's just wrong. She had some issues if she says that. Probably of the Daddy variety. LOL.

Or one a those knee jerk feminist types.

Both of which are dealio breakuhs...as my Boston friend says...for the Crystal Knocked guy.

    LOL

    Cheers.

^what's DW (if it's a name, nevermind. But I feel there are some abbreviations out there, that I've completely missed out on)
    anyway,..

themax-do NOT cook hard boiled eggs in the microwave. I repeat, do NOT cook hard boiled eggs in the microwave. (not even joking)

    ----------------------------
I saw some chocolate chip cookies a little ways back and that kinda just ruined what I was going to put (those looked sooo good!)...but, in the intent to follow the rules-
Long John Silver's Fish and fries (and hushpuppies and coleslaw). Actually, it's funny how my least favorite thing typically ( the hushpuppies) were actually the most satisfying of all of the meal today! I think it's because I was so hungry and plus, I haven't really eaten them much in the past year or so, because of my diet. I'll usually eat one and give away the other, or sometimes eat none.

but now all i can think of is those cookies...and/or cupcakes. Saw those earlier too. (other stuff I've had to pretty much give up. :( )

Mmm..was it the triple cheeseburger @ McDonald's, or the sausage, pepperoni & extra cheese @ Arni's?

The pizza was a celebration of a personal milestone. And some left to eat later. :smoke out:
