that's because it needs to be paired with something to offset the tartness of them. Alone they are kinda too strong. The wife makes a dessert casserole with layers of crushed Ritz crackers then slices of cranberry sauce then whipped topping, about 6 layers of each. It tastes great because all the disparate flavors work together. Try it and it may change your mind about cranberry sauce, although I agree that alone it's a bit much. My brother used to love the crap, so much so that for Christmas one year my aunt got him a 7lb can of the stuff, and he ate the whole damn thing. :yikes:
more diversity then i expected to, and i'm certainly thankful for that. the center piece was turkey, and two kinds of stuffing. then there were at least 6, possibly more, different kinds of vegetable sides to go with it. along with several other surprises and three dogs. although we didn't eat the dogs.
turkey, the best ham I've ever had, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, deviled eggs, stuffing, fruit salad, mac and cheese, asparagus, and peas. Plus a slice of cheesecake topped with cherries. My family does a huge spread. I just get a small sample of everything, I'm not that much of a glutton lol. my family (siblings + mom + kids) always get together with my mom's sister's family for the holidays. Its nice. we also has to go to my boyfriend's family's thanksgiving but I was so full I didn't really eat anything there.
