Lot less gamey then the black tail deer from the coastal islands up here. Been sooooooo many years since I've eaten lower 48 deer I can't compare it.
Walkes 4ish miles Cleaned windows inside and out. Up those fucking big ladders again. High ceilings do have their drawbacks Cleaned fridge ready fo new supplies tomorrow Made a curry from all sorts of leftovers Convinced my husband that the roller blinds in the kitchen needed to come down and be fixed (done!) Should say I walk 4 or 5 miles 6 days out of 7 Take Monday off so I can get the bedlinen washed and out as early as possible and the cleaning started. We do share the chores equally except he refuses to swap my sheet changing for the bathroom cleaning. Bastard
When living in Wyoming the nearest neighbor (three miles away) often invited us for meals, they hunted and fished so we tried everything from moose to deer, trout, crayfish, turkeys...but never squirrel I must say. One of them got a license to hunt a bighorn sheep, and he bagged one at age eighteen and we did enjoy that roast I must say. But that was around 30 years ago!
That Moose reminded me of a film I watch years ago. It made a big impact on me, as I have never forgotten it.
Yesterday I watched this cloud slowly drifting by... as I did my daily chores. Trimmed the palm in the courtyard and cleaned up that area. Picture below is before I cleaned up the corner by the bougainvillea. Today I must go pay the power bill... $25 for two months service. There is a difference between utilities run for profit and ones that are not.
The boogey needs pruning... and even though well watered is suffering from the blazing heat. It's over 100 F in that courtyard mid-day. The walls reflect the sun and amplify the heat... which is nice in the winter...!
That story is so sad...I have read the tale but not seen the film. Word is they finally just last year removed that bus. Too many people trekking out there to see for themselves. Seems there are people who search out sites where people die. Creepy!
Coincidentally that is one of my favorites! A very deep movie. Even more.... Because it is based on a true story. I think we will like each other
He eventually died of food poisoning, I recall. It was Moose. That is why the previous photo prompted the memory.
He loses the moose to the flies.... He will eat some fruits/vegetation thinking they are edible. But they happen to be toxic.
