Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head Found my way downstairs and drank a cup And looking up I noticed I was late Found my coat and grabbed my hat Made the bus in seconds flat Found my way upstairs and had a smoke And somebody spoke and I went into a dream .... Then I woke up and found myself reading this! ~Thank you John Lennon.
Car went to the shop, Went to Walmart, got a battery for the mower, (and watched WalMart people) Bought some "beauty challenged" flowers on discount, Now it's too hot to work outside.
I was in Walmart yesterday...in Mexico. Couldn't tell I was not in California 'el norte.' Except for one thing. The Mexicans dress better. And they are in better shape physically than most Americans. They eat a lot more fresh foods than up north. It seems to be only gringos that buy the foods there, the locals go for the other stuff made in China mostly. TVs, etc.
I cleaned my google cache and I have been sending all of my memes to a gmail account. When that's done I will have lots more space.
I avoid Walmart as much as possible. I only step foot in there to get live bait and then I'm out. Although it is an interesting show inside.
I ran this evening even though we are in a heat wave. That's what makes it challenging and I'm always up for that.
Attended our local Pride picnic; saw a bunch of friends and neighbors, and met some new ones. Played both uilleann pipes and great Highland pipes for everyone.
went to the little store around the corner, that doesn't have much and that not as cheep as the big stores it takes an hour to get to on the bus and another to get back from, and not much after 0900. took along nap in the middle of the day too, and now we've got some clouds and had a few sprinkles that are already all dried up. just got enough for today, could have survived without it, but i wanted a couple of things different then what i had in the house, that would rot in this heat if i tried to keep them more then a day. wish i could have been there to hear piobaire play the pipes, a cold slice of water melon would go very good about now too.
Yesterday I went to a never-visited before local market, the Scout. It has almost everything from PVC pipe and fittings to car tires, fresh vegetables, tools and gadgets, all sorts of food products - even some American imports. Of course there were layers of dust on everything, but it is there two blocks away. Across from the place where they sell Chicken Wings and french fries at night, and 'hamburguesas.' It's fun to explore the neighborhood on foot.
