I guess I shouldn't tell you about the burger I just saw being made. Half ground chorizo and half ground beef, with a mix of shredded cheddar and Jack cheese melting over the patty, a load of caramelized onions, and topped with deep fried avocado. I have to try making one of those. The customer he made it for was moaning and groaning while he ate it. Nothing sexier than a man savouring his meal. lol
ground hog with lemon and chives, and a couple of chicken and veggie goyza on the side. previous meal was an avacado with a refrigerated curry with tuna in it in the hole where the seed was. with more added as more room for it as the hole got larger eating the avacado with a spoon. also bread dipped in remaining curry (one of those green curries with the panier cubes in it). desert was crispy rice with coffee crystals and nesquick in the milk. the more recent was creamcheese with nesquick (chocklet) blended in on vanilla biscuits and bread, with milk. actually getting ready to make something again. the sausage pattie was when i got up yesterday sometime around 18:30 in the evening. not sure if the avacado was yesterday or today. forgot to look at the clock. i've got some polenta in the freezer, same more of the ground hog, i may have some tj's egplant fries in there still, and some portabella shrooms, couple of cans of tuna, 3 assorted vac packed tj's curries (one of the best deals in the store) there's more of the chicken goyza too, those came from the 99cents store. as did the tuna. there's a bunch of different dried pasta and rice things, various powdered bullions and falvorings. i don't remember what else is in the frige, besides water and 2% milk. still got a little bit of the crispy rice and some shredded kind of seawead stuff. green onions in the fridge, and some pudding cups. so i don't absolutely need to go to the store today, but i am getting low on the powdered chocklet and the crispy rice. probably the next day or two i'll have to. out of bread, though i've still got some of the vanilla biscuits. i don't really need to have bread in the house all the time. but i do need to restock on instant or frozen noodles. i'm half way thinking i might go to a dollar tree. they don't have milk, but they have the smaller packages of frozen talapia that i love, and i really don't have the freezer space to get the big ones. all three have the coffee crystals, but for the big thing of chocklet, i need to go to one of the big stores. smart and final is good, but its too far from the buses that run often enough coming back. i'd get more 'fresh' veggies, if only the kept long enough to not rot on me. i hate to be wasteful, so i don't get more then will keep long enough to use it up. i'm once again living where there's just me, which i'm glad of. good people i had been living with, but they sold the house and went seperate ways. well there you go. that's an example of the way i eat and the way i shop.
Cooked up two sirloin steaks (each around 1/2lb) with some steamed broccoli and white rice following 18 hours of fasting and 90 minutes of weights.
It is only in the 50s here today, out in the garage brewing beer. The cool weather makes me want soup. I'm thinkin Turkey Chili!!
I might make some crescent rolls wrapped around cheese sticks and pepperoni, lol... Haven't felt super motivated lately, but I know I should be cooking more...
Here is what I did today...sort of cooking right? There's fire - pots... It will be a spiced Winter Warmer...about 7% ABV
I had cauliflower left over from fermenting to use up, so I made Aloo Gobi today. Yum! I love that dish. The colour isn't off, that's the green and orange cauliflower I used. And I like using sweet potato along with regular potato, gives it that bit of sweetness. Goes well with the more acrid curry seasonings.
I made Turkey Chili...yum...although I very much dislike winter, I make it through with soup and dark beers!
chunked chicken tenderloins and celery stir fry with peanuts instead of usual szechuan i did it in light curry spice this time
Thai green curry with chicken, red pepper, shallot and bamboo shoots. It's my favorite and I haven't made it in so long. Was like coming home. ^_^ Earlier I made chicken pot pie. Made the gravy last night from giblets and trumpet mushrooms and added the actual roasted chicken today right before baking. It was heavenly. Been a good food day for me after all. No pizza crescents for me today, lol. Maybe tomorrow...
It's a freakin' cooking thread you guys, whats the point here? For fucksake at least post a pizza pic! lol
My parents have a wood burning brick oven in their backyard that they built. Sometimes we do pizzas in there. I shall post a pic next time.
I'm doing something with pork tenderloin tonight. I don't know what yet. I'll do something with spaghetti squash as a side probably.
homemade sauce: i cooked garlic, onions, and green peppers in a little bit of olive oil, added tomatoes, olives, jalapeno peppers, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, lentils, nutritional yeast, some toasted sesame, and a little bit of sugar.
I am bringing my special salad to my art club meeting tonight. Mixed greens, black olives, diced cherry tomatoes, crispy onions and pine nuts. It will be fucking delicious.
Made the first vegan mac n cheese recipe that I've ever had that actually tasted like cheese. It has cashews blended with veggies, nutritional yeast, lemon juice and spices. So creamy. I'm pleased.
