Oh boy, you jumped into HotWater eating that stuff... glad you are still alive after the experience. All of the posts in this thread inspire me to complete the cookbook...
lol No spare bedroom but there's a spacious shed in the yard beside the orchard as long as you don't mind sharing with the spiders. :-D
Last night did BBQ chicken breasts. Marinated them in lemon juice, honey mustard, cumin, coriander, garlic, fennel seeds and basil for the whole day. Made linguine with heavy cream, parm, lemon, garlic and dill. Asparagus and a heirloom tomato salad with cucumber, celery, red onion and dill dressed with white balsamic and lemon olive oil. Tonight we has BBQ burgers and the fixings. I did oven tater wedges with herbs and a salad.
I just tried making grits for breakfast for the first time. I have been getting really into southern cuisine this summer and thought I would do a trial run before attempting shrimp n grits for dinner later this week. It was bad, really bad. They were good when i did a taste test right before serving but by the time I sat down with them they were dry and lumpy.
Nothing. Too hot to cook and/or eat. I bought eggs and tomatoes this morning at the market. Cantaloupe and blueberries too. I can't eat much when it's this hot.
Not really cooking, but it's been too hot! Picnic at the lake. Lox with celery and cream cheese and vanilla ice cream from a local dairy, with fruit.
I've been in the kitchen for 2 and a half hours, I decided to simultaneously make a batch of salsa for the week and eggplant parmagiana which takes forfucking ever The fruits of my labor should be pretty tasty though.
Striploin steak with sautéed tarragon mushrooms, baked sweet potato with a dollop of Greek yogurt, and a green salad.
Vegetarian Enchiladas. They were fucking delicious. I never cease to amaze myself in the kitchen. I always worry that something won't turn out, and then it ends up better than expected. I also froze a bunch of the mixture to take camping with us, and I have enough leftover mixture to serve the same dish to our friends for supper tomorrow night.
Tarragon is a great herb. I made tarragon chicken with white wine sauce, it was awesome... portobello mushrooms on the side
I have a loaf of banana oatmeal bread with peach chunks in it in the oven right now! I have finally got a few days off now before the crazy summer rush starts next week so I decided to bake something.
Minced nettles on toast. I added lots of butter. It was quite satisfying and felt good I was getting something for nothing.
