    I'm hungry.

I don't want the chicken stuff on toast again.

I want some zucchini, some eggplant, and some pork tenderloin!

    Damn it.

Chicken stuff, lol. Maybe I can make this for my parents. It's a running joke here with my friends about my family. They eat chicken almost every day. They'd be so happy to be served chicken yet another way!

That sounds good. I bought a pork roast, something I've stopped making since they started raising leaner pigs. The pork always comes out dry now. But with this recipe you cover it with pancetta. It claims to keep the meat juicy.

I made overnight oatmeal in the slow cooker for breakfast. I use steel cut oats which are less processed and also don't turn to mush like rolled oats would in the slow cooker. I mixed in a bit of sugar, added a little cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Nothing like a hot bowl of oatmeal in the morning on a cold winter day.

I have noticed this too about pork lucy. I pretty much only buy large roast cuts to slow cook.

I didn't even buy anything to cook today. I thought I was going to visit my sister in law and eat there, and bring home a couple of days worth of leftovers.

It's cool. I'd rather go to the grocery store than have to make that pilgrimage today.

    Hmmm....Good question! Ha!

I'm glad you caught me before I got dressed and went.

Maybe I'll get to go to the Chinese Buffet. I've been craving that sense Christmas!

Hahaha I'm ordering Chinese today since it's the only thing open! I forgot to do a proper grocery shop before the stores closed last night.

Traditional Southern New Year's Day fare: black-eyed peas, collards, cornbread, onions.

We don't have the meat (pork BBQ), which is what I have eaten with that ^ .

edit: how did I forget the best part: Sweet Potato Souffle

Yep, Lynn. I could have sworn that I was going to go eat all that at my sister in laws today, ha ha ha...

The joke's on me because now I have to go to Walmart :(

We need cat food and cat litter and I'll buy something to cook there.

Still, I'd rather not be captive at my in laws today.

I'm thinking about making a soup. It feels like winter here finally, well not really but it is grey and overcast with a slight nip in the air so I thought soup would be yummy. I guess I'm supposed to do the traditional New Years meal today but soup sounds better.

I hope the grocery store is open

I ate a freaking t.v. dinner. It hit the spot. Mexican meal.

I had to go to walmart twice. I bought the dogs sweaters but they were a size too small so I went right back and exchanged them for bigger ones. lol

After all that - no real cooking for me.
