    Hello,

    crisps made from stinging nettle:

I flavoured them with pepper and paprika powder, which tasted nice, but not like crisps ;). A pinch of salt made a huge difference. This stinging nettle crisps are thinner than potatoe crisps. You can press them with your tongue to the roof of your mouth and they shatter in really small pieces, ready to swallow.

    Regards
    Gyro

I made some really good potato bacon chowder yesterday, along with some vegetarian Swedish meatballs that really sucked. I've got plans to make vegan chickpea/gluten cutlets with mushroom gravy and mashed golden turnips, as well as some honey garlic chicken with carrot soup later this week. The family is coming to visit this weekend, so I'll probably make a goose pot pie for them if my stepdad brings me a goose (he's a big hunter).

I went to the store today and picked up 1 red bell pepper, 1 green bell pepper, 2 yellow onions, 2 chili peppers, 1 package of soy chorizo, 1 can of tomato paste, 1 bag of dry black beans, and 1 1lb bag of rice. I'm going to have to borrow a little olive oil from my client but with some veggie bullion and red wine vinegar I'll be making enough black beans and rice to last me a week. All for less than $10.

    Hello,

thanks. Stinging nettle isn't that bad. It contains several times more vitamine C than oranges. That is before deep-frying it I guess ;). I'm not an expert in crisps technology, but I think it's all about the taste and the crunch. The potato slice is only a carrier for that two things. Stinging nettle works as carrier for the taste, but the crunch is different. It's not bad, but different. So, if you are out in the woods and it happens that you find a pound of butter in your backpack, making a bowl of stinging nettle crisps is a nice thing to spend an hour with.

Oh, try roasting stinging nettle seeds. They are yummy. You can eat them as they are or put them on a salat or put them into mustard.

    Regards
    Gyro

Several years ago I walked through a stand of stinging nettles (only wearing shorts) and got blisters all over my skin.[IMG]

So I ask, what do you do for an encore …………………serve them with puffer fish? [IMG]

    Hello,

I've heard there is a whole fetish scene with people who like to get whipped with stinging nettle, even at parts of their bodies where the sun never shines ;).

Well, you can eat the nettle leaves raw, but I would advice to roll the leaves up before you put them into your mouth ;).

well so far, for breakfast, hamburger on top of breaded egplant slices, with a little mushroom gravy powder and lemon concentrate for seasoning. 95 seconds in the microwave, so the meat would still be red inside.

i love dead cow, and its quick and easy for breakfast, but i don't like it cooked all the way through. to me doing so makes it almost tasteless.

I was not feeling up to cooking this past week, but am going to do something with pork chops tonight! I might do a spaghetti squash on the side I'm not sure yet.

    Hello,

maybe that doesn't count as cooking. But I put a handfull of arcorns into the fire. Just long enough so that I can peel them easier. Next I will water them for a few hours and then I'll try to make 'coffee' out of them.
