Left overs it is. Tonight that is exactly what I am having is some of my leftover pork roast. I am only thinking of you and your safety Lucy...... she says with a straight face We need to complain about this aye!!!!
Those tend to be a little more tart. Will you have to add sugar to it? I have never used crabapples on their own so I am curious.
My apple butters have been canned. I'm sitting here praying for the lids to pop. The Cortland apple butter is really delicious but not nearly as smooth as the crabapple butter. I will definitely be using the mesh strainer in the future. The crabapple butter is sweet at first with a bit of a bitter crabapple taste at the end. I like it that way though. I might do one more batch with ginger in it if I can get my hands on more apples, then I will have some Christmas presents for friends.
Well for lunch I'm going to make a pork schnitzel with some roast potatos or maybe mash and some vegetable. I need to cook a couple of rissoles up today too, hope the flavors mix in well. For my bbq plate I've been using red creme soda to clean and it's making a really nice and sweet coating for my when I cook on there when the oils soak into the meat. I'm really impressed.
I made another basil and tomato frittata for breakfast today. Without the bacon in the batter this time. I think it tasted better without. Just brick cheese, sautéd onions and Aleppo chili flakes in the eggs.
I'm in the middle of making Tamale Pie http://www.2teaspoons.com/tamale-pie/ I had Jiffy cornbread on hand and used it instead of making cornbread.
That Tamale Pie Recipe looks really good! Today I made 1 batch each of French, and Italian salad dressing for my client. Meatballs and BBQ sauce are on the menu tomorrow. I think I might trying making that Tamale Pie but instead of using Cornbread using Polenta. C/S, Rev J
Well, what did she make? You should have snapped some shots, ha ha! Not sure if that would be a compliment or just downright rude. lol
