On top of the stove, I cooked chicken breast in cream of mushroom soup with a little water added. I put a light sprinkling of curry powder on the chicken. I reserved half a can of the soup, which I mixed with cooked and buttered pasta. I cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and mixed it in as well. I topped the dish with a little grated cheese. I had a side dish of fermented cabbage. It was all delicious!
I shouldn't have read that. I'm looking at a couple of rice cakes and a banana right now, and my taste buds are looking at me like I'm Osama bin Laden.
oatmeal with butter, brown sugar, cacao powder, and sliced bananas. This is definitely my new favorite way of making oatmeal.
I was going to make a simple chicken and rice casserole. I pan seared the boneless breasts after marinating in Italian dressing overnight. After cooling for a bit I diced the chicken. I also diced some onions and put them into the pan where I had a little peanut oil heated. When the onions browned I tossed in some frozen vegetables that I got from Super H Mart. It was all normal enough but I decided to use shredded potatoes instead of rice. So I set the stuff in the pan aside and cooked some of the potatoes in the pan, the rest I mixed with a can of cream of onion soup and the other onions and veggies I fried earlier. I added the chicken last and mixed it all up pretty good in the pan. I put some onion rings (raw) on top and tossed it into the convection oven first at 450F for 20 minutes then 400F for 20 minutes and then 350F for 30 minutes. Totally worth it. It may seem like a lot of steps but the only real prep was cutting an onion and then cutting the chicken, which took 10 minutes to sear in a covered pan. I've been fucking up rice casseroles lately and the chicken was organic ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErRHJlE4PGI ). So I couldn't resist trying a big fat sack of hash browns instead of rice.
What kind of bread did you bake? I've been experimenting with a few different kinds of bread over the years. I even used to have a wonderful sourdough starter living in my fridge until I went away for a summer and no one else remembered to care for it. I just bought some stone milled flour from a local mill that has no preservatives in it, to experiment with some crusty white breads too!

Tonight I'm barbecuing some chicken thighs aND legs. I'll steam some asparagus and quickly fry it with some butter and garlic for a side. I was also thinking about trying a new pastry dough recipe out today. It uses sour cream instead of water, and apparently makes extremely flaky dough. If I do make pastry dough I'll probably make banana turnovers or something. I bought too many of them again.
I cooked my own beef stew. I threw in steak, onions, mushrooms, sour creme, siracha mayo, cayenne pepper, mustard, and vinegar. I wasn't sure what the hell I was doing, but it was mighty tasty!
So I did try the pasry recipe out yesterday. It was so easy and turned out wonderfully flaky! I used my food processor with a dough blade, so there was almost no work at all. If anyone is interested in the dough recipe, this is the one I used: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/sour_cream_pie_crust/ I made banana chocolate turnovers with it, like I said I would. They are incredibly easy to make. I chopped up 1 extra dark chocolate bar and 2 very ripe bananas. I then mixed that together with about 2tbsp of brown sugar. That's it!
No cooking today, but I did heat up a scrumptious eggplant lasagna I picked up at the Italian café. With a green salad. I'm going to pop over to the lake in about an hour and see if I can get a few shots of the harvest blood supermoon with the lunar eclipse. I hope the clouds stay away.
