I recently did this to my husband's t-shirt drawer. He was so happy, and I felt like it was a nice "wifey" thing to do.
This thread is making me feel lazy, granted I HAVE been very lazy today. I suppose I should take my dirties down to the quarter wash and do a load....... It is 8pm on a Monday, though, so it may very well be quite busy down there.
is there a specific method to rolling clothes, or is it really just what it sounds like? i feel like if i tried to roll my clothes, they would end up balled up and wrinkly as hell.
Well, i really only roll cotton/tshirts. I hang up pants and nicer shirts that are more prone to wrinkles. But my rolled shirts never wrinkle, you just fold the arms back, fold it in half, then roll from the bottom. You can straighten the fabric as you go so it isnt bunched up.
that does sound reasonably simple, but it actually seems like a bit more work than folding. when i fold shirts normally, i fold the arms back, fold it in half, and then fold it in half the other way and i'm done. i can't really give an educated opinion on this though, because i have a lot more closet space than dresser space, so i rarely fold shirts anyway. and when i do, it's usually to shove them into my overpacked gym bag and i end up doing what i described, and then folding them in half a couple more times to the point that they almost look like they're rolled up. of course, they end up wrinkly when i pull them back out.
I pack my suitcase like this. Your clothes are folded; it's just the last little step that is rolling them.
I cleaned my toilet and bathroom sink (I'm going to start cleaning them every day, as I've been inspired by Piaf). I've done three loads of laundry. I pulled my fridge out and mopped the floor underneath. I glued down the baseboards in the kitchen as they were coming loose.
I worked on house plants and moved the fountain... Hey! It involved sweeping and a trashcan. Gimme a break.
I've been sweeping the carpets at the baseboards with the broom, sweeping all the carpet with the rubber squeegy broom, and them vacuuming. Lots of cat hair because I went so long between working vacuums. I'm trying to catch back up. There are fleas somewhere because my kitten gets them. I've done some laundry in between. Lots of breaks because the fibromyalgia and arthritis are kicking my ass.
I've done dishes three times today...make food, wash dishes, repeat. Dishes are a regular part of my daily routine.
I Confess I Have Never Heard The Word "Gooch" Before, But As Usual Google Was My Friend........ Cheers Glen.
