What defines a "pedophile" to you?

I saw a documentary about this and it got me thinking.

Is it a certain age, or age gap? I was not aware of this but there are different terms for what age group one is attracted to. So there is a difference between liking children pre-pubirty and post.

Someone who is attracted to say a 16 year old is not considered a true pedophile and it can be argued that is a more mature age. I mean for example a few centuries ago you would definitely be married with kids or dead by that age. It was not uncommon for a 14 year old girl to be married off to a much older man. This was considered normal. A short time after the female would actuly begin to have a period she would be an adult. For example the Jewish Bat Mitzva for females is 12. An age we would never consider to be an adult today but in a time period when one was lucky to live to 30 things moved faster.

My personal opinion to be attracted to a 16 year old or someone of a similar age has some natural healthy roots. Biologically one is fertile at that age and evolution favors young healthy parents. However there is still the mental maturity factor so there is always the question of "should I act on this".

The age of consent does vary from place to place so really there is no world wide definition of what a "child" and "adult" is.

What are your thoughts? I am not trying to defend the true pedophile who is going after a 5 year old. Of course not that is sick, but I am open to debate about what an adult really is. I mean if you have gone through pubrity you have sexual thoughts yourself and can at a point consent to do those things yourself. A 5 year old can not do this.

 

Anyone that has sex with a person deemed to be under the legal age, I define as a pedo. Also anyone with an attraction to underage children.

 

I don't agree that underage equals pedo. I'm not saying its always right, but not necessarily pedo level. Pedophilia to me is an adult attracted to a prepubescent kid, mentally or physically.

In my opinion, on average, a woman is at her peak attractiveness from the age of 16 to around 24. When I see a hot girl who might be under the age 18, I don't think to myself "she might be under 18, and I think she's hot, so therefore I might be a pedophile."

A pedophile is a truly sick person who likes young, prepubescent children -- not girls with breasts, who more than likely have had their first period.

Any heterosexual man with a working set of testicles is going to be turned on by a good looking woman who is fully developed, whether she is 15 or 35.

I personally think high school girls are some of the hottest, and I don't give two fucks if they're underage since I am not having sex with them.

Saying that anyone who has sex with someone who is underage is a pedophile is fucking retarded. To say an adult man that has consensual sex with a girl who is 17 is the same as a sicko who rapes a 6 year old is rather stupid.

I am not sure why you are upset. I'm not defending any position.

If you have kids I can understand being the protective father. But the topic of dating older people is popular among teens. For the most part it will be girls with older crushes. They like him and mom and dad do not. In that case they like older guys because boys of the same age are immature.

Yes, in movies and tv shows.
How often do you see it happening in real life?
If they do want an older guy, it's mostly a hot young looking 20something year old, not 30 and older lol.
These girls might fantasize about an Ezra, but there's no Aria and Ezra in real life.
I am pretty sure most teenage girls would think these 30 year old men staring at them and hitting on them were creepy pervs.

 

First off, 16-24 is not a woman. That is a girl. Second, I think peak age is 25-45.

 

I don’t know 40+ is uncharted territory; I think what you need is a road map to the nearest freshman dorm at a local college or university :2thumbsup:

I've lived in a college dorm, when I was in college. And yeah, it pretty fuckin awesome. But it was a lot of fumbling and insecurity. Maybe its just my female perspective, but I'd prefer confidence and knowhow.
