Hehe.. it seems, a Pierce Brosnan he was not; I found a Traditional 'Paul'. He is not exactly a 'Looker' either.
Ya but keep in mind - that was the most flattering Socrates I could find. You should see the other ones! Pug Ugly... Pug Ugly.
What Color was Jesus?Jesus PrayingBlack Representation of JesusBlond Representation of JesusWhat does Jesus really look like? People have always been race-conscious, color-conscious, or national-conscious, or whatever you call it. We often see pictures of a white Jesus, usually one with long wavy blond hair and blue eyes. Sometimes you may find a brunette Jesus with long or mid-length hair. Sadly, using Jesus as a white man or any color has been used in ungodly ways. Many identify Him as white because of racial prejudice. Others use a White representation of Jesus to point out that Christianity is a White Man's Religion. That is further from the truth. Christianity was founded in the Middle East, where diversities of people live. Some are Black, Brown, and White. No matter what his skin color is, all of us should identify with Him. There are people who will point out "false Christs", but a "false Christ" could be of any color. The Bible never gave any picture in the New Testament of what race Jesus is. However, Revelation 1:14-15 describes Jesus as "having wooly hair", "feet like bronze", and "eyes like fire." To many, this could mean that Jesus is Black, but does it? Not necessarily. Jesus was born at the time of the Roman Empire, in the Middle East, where you will find people of various nationalities. You may find those with wavy hair, straight hair, or kinky hair. Though most had black hair, you will find those with red hair, brown hair, and even blond hair. Just look at the Middle East today, and you will find descendants of those various ancestors. You may find those who look Hispanic, Arab, Persian, Hebrew, black, white, or any race or nationality in the Mediterranean world. What many people have forgotten is, that all of us throughout history, we are all of mixed race. Therefore, it is futile to go deep into if Jesus is Black or White. The best way to answer that question is read Matthew 1 and Luke 1, which give the heritage of Jesus. In those two books, you will find, that all of the people in Jesus' lineage descended from Adam and Eve, who are the mother and father of the entire human race! Have you notice that Noah's son's were of different races,(Japheth, Ham, and Shem) descended from Adam and Eve. Japheth's descendants are the Indo-Europeans, which include the Russians, Armenians, Greeks, and Irish. Ham's descendants include many of the Iranian, Turkish, Chinese, and African peoples. Shem's descendants include the Hebrews and Arabs and some of the ancestors of North Africans and Spaniards. King Solomon was descended from possibly a Hittite mother and King David, a Hebrew. He is, by the way a part of Jesus' lineage. Has anybody ever considered the fact that Jesus may be of mixed race, like the rest of us? Just a thought. Ok, I admit, even I was guilty of the same thing, but I realize it doesn't even matter. Jesus is the Risen Savior. He is the ONLY Way to God. He saved my soul and the souls of millions of others. No true Christian would care what color He was. He did not care what color we were back then. He doesn't care what color we are now. If it doesn't matter to Him, then why should it matter to us? The truth is, it shouldn't matter, nor does it matter. These four illustrations shown above are artists' illustrations of how Jesus looks. What we ought to be focusing on is that Jesus died on the cross for all of us, whatever you consider yourself. If you are White, Black, Hispanic, or Bi-racial, Jesus will still be the same. He never changes. We are all to be saved ourselves, live righteously, and fulfill the Great Comission. That is more important than the color of Jesus' skin. This is far more important than the color of anyone's skin. We ought to be ashamed of ourselves, for allowing race as a tool to hurt someone else, especially when Jesus is used. There is no need for debate for such an issue as this, especially in this day and age. Our souls are too important to be caught up in things of this world. After all, Jesus healed a Phonecian's daughter, spoke to a Samaritan woman, and ate with publicans and sinners. We as the body of Christ ought to be ashamed of ourselves!
Oh....sorry, you have to spell the name of the Italian city correctly kiddo, no cupie doll for you this time.
Is it 'Turin' Do I win one of BlackG's 'Mammy' Dolls. You know.. those 'Minstrel Show' dolls with big red lips and nappy hair? I bet BlackyG has a whole collection of them?
Moses was born in Egypt, and has an Egyptian name, so is he Egyptian? The middle east was on a trade route to three continents, so there were folks from all over there. One thing seems pretty clear, he was born 600 years too early to be from Nazareth.
Does it really matter what colour the skin of Jesus was?? What is the big deal about skin colour anyway?? Its like its a phobia...if Jesus was black..would he not do the same thing? If he was white would he be more compassionate? If he was chinese or yellow skinned would he havwe more messages to give??? I think the wole thing about Jesus and the colour of his skin is for the different races to feel more important about themselves...i think it is sad really...THE POINT OF THE MATTER IS THAT JESUS CAME TO GIVE A MESSAGE WHICH HE DID...THE DUDE IS DEAD....TAKE THE MESSAGE WITH STRIDE AND LEARN....make haste and seek God...Jesus was just giving some clues...research people....seek and ye shall find. If anyone was offended by the contents of this post well you can always just go fuck yourselves...to the rest that UNDERSTAND the message .....PEACE!
moses was born in egypt? I was not aware of that. but Jesus was Jewish, Nazarene to be specific, and thusly must be jewish colored.
Its very clear Jesus was an ethnic Jew. The reason that doesnt help us is because, although most Jews of that era had a 'look' - You could easily find wide variation of 'Look' across the board. Consider Italians. Yes... Dark Brown, Black Straight Hair and 'Olive Tone' might be a 'general look' - you can also find Italians almost Black in skin tone ... as well as many with light skin and blonde hair. What makes me laugh is people who actually believe they are 'Challenging' people with portraits of a 'Black Jesus' - not even realising that Jesus MAY have looked like Bob Marley - and no informed Christians every thought otherwise. BlackGuard probably wears a 'Jesus is my Homeboy' T-shirt and actually feels smug about 'Challenging' people with it lol!
It doesn't matter what color jesus was...just as it doesn't matter what color you or i am.... it is about what jesus stands for...
WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING THAT. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS WONDERING, ASKING, THEORISING ABOUT "DOES IT MATTER". THIS IS NOT>> I REPEAT NOT WHAT THE TOPIC ASKS.
the topic cleary states... what color was jesus.. i simply said...it doesn't matter to me what color he was...Am I allowed to have an opinion...this is a free speech forum right? and it's not like i'm the only one who said it doesn't matter what color he is..I believe the origional poster said.. 'not like the colour of the man would in some way take away from his message. Simply a potential discussion...'...and that is just as i implied myself.. no need to get all defensive about it and type in huge font..
Yes thank you Rar. I figured I needed to match your 'Huge Font' style to make a point here. Of course you can say it.. but its not helpful to the discussion when every other post ASKS "Does it matter?" This misrepresents the posters who are staying on topic. This is NOT people trying to determine the message by his appearance. People continuously 'Asking' this question is not helpful. Im almost certain EVERYONE keeping ON TOPIC has CLEARLY STATED this has NO BEARING on his message. Sorry Dude.. nothing personal. Just please understand that NO ONE here is even STARTING to wonder if Jesus physical appearance reflects on his message. [Except maybe BlackGuard?]
yeah... i am not a christian, but it would just seem logical that if jesus was born in the middle east, he would have a tan tint to his skin. i do not believe he was either white nor a darker skinned black.
ahh yes once again i am reminded of two fundamentals never to have an opinion about: POLITICS and RELIGION...sigh...
lanalou, I know what you mean. Both topics are like jack in the boxes, you never know when they will go pop, and go sour. I still like to discuss them, to learn, but I make no claim of being right, and have no desire to say anyone must agree with me. I don't know His skin colour, obviously, I wasn't there. My opinion on it is just my best guess, and the only other point I wanted to make was that just cuz He was born in the Middle East does not make it certain he looked Middle Eastern. The area is on a trade route, and He could have been any colour. His parents geneologies are likely our best source of info. to estimate his ethnicity. As for the post that he was 'Jewish coloured', my view is that there is no such thing. Is that Sammy Davis Jr. Jewish coloured, or Woody Allen Jewish coloured? My opinions are just for me to believe, and if anyone thinks I am wrong, thats great. I accept that.
