din't old testament prophesy say the messiah
would be an ugly little man ? so maybe by that there's some light
on the picture . the early paintings showed jesus like that too , and
in those murals he sorta looked like ghandi , 'cept ghandi
    was blue like krishna .

Yet the only reference in the Bible to his description states he had 'woolly' hair, and African hair is the only hair I have felt that feels just like wool. It was 2000 years ago, what makes you so certain?
I don't know what He looked like, or if He even existed for sure, and I doubt it matters really. His message is what is important, is it not?

Once again BlackGuard is causing confusion.

There is NO REFERENCE TO JESUS HAVING WOOLY HAIR in the Bible.
    None.

You are refering to a portion of Revelations.
To put this in perspective, St. John is seeing a Vision of the Son of God.

The actual description John gives goes like this:

    His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow;

Pick ANY translation you like... its always White LIKE Wool.
This has ZERO to do with the curl, texture or kink of the Hair John is envisioning.
All peoples can eventually have White Hair.

Ok.. let keep going with ALL the description - not just parts we like.

and his eyes were as a flame of fire

I dont know anyone who matches this description but I suppose people with what... Bright Blue eyes are the closest thing to 'Flame' colours.
Black or Brown Eyes do not match this description.

So lets keep going in the SAME description.

And his feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace

Most all translations have the same description of the appearance of fine brass IN A FURNACE.
or.. As Brass looks while being in a furnace.

The Weymouth Translation even has "His feet were like silver-bronze, when it is white-hot in a furnace"

Almost ALL describe it as being like Brass IN a fire.

Does that really describe any peoples look?
Do Africans really have bright glowing brass coloured feet??

Lets keep going with the ENTIRE description:

and His voice resembled the sound of many waters

What peoples today have that physical characteristic - I have no idea?

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Now John describes the Jesus in his Vision as having a countenance like the Sun shining!
So does this mean Jesus was Asian with a Yellow Hue?

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying to me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death

-So we can see that Jesus is NOT DESCRIBED AS HAVING HAIR LIKE WOOL
-This is a Visual Representation seen by St.John in a Vision and may not necessarily portray Jesus actual Physical Body as it was on Earth.
-Almost NONE of the Description matches any known Peoples on Earth.

I hope that helps and clears up BlackGuards misunderstanding as well.

Im not aware of the Old Testament (which includes the Torah) being 'butchered'.
The Messiah described in the Old Testament is described as both a 'Sacrificial Lamb' AND a Victorious Hero.

Im sure some 'Smarties' showed the Jews the 'Contradiction' in their Bible but only until the First Coming of the Messiah did we learn He was to appear once as a 'Lamb' and then a Second Time as a Victorious Hero (See Above)

    fuck off toon

I was making the very relevent, and important point that is DOES sometimes matter how He is portrayed.
Just like it matters very much what children are taught in primary school. For example, it was at one time taught to youngsters that Germans built the pyramids, and although you find this scenario plausible. You even made the point that it was more likely than Nubians being involved, (you racist).
I can assure you, Germans had zero input in that project.
The fact they were teaching this lie was evidence of the propaganda machine working in defiance of observable evidence.
So, you can, as earlier stated, fuck off.

You were not making a relevant comparison.

The 'Portrayal' of Jesus we are talking about is literally refering to the way he is depicted in Artistic Portrayals.

Since you cant figure out 'how the basic premise' of this works - you have switched over to your bizarro theory about The Pyramids.

Now I dont hate to burst your bubble but the Pyramids AINT THAT GREAT.
Knowing your mentality - they are fascinating because they are 'Super big'!

Amazingly.. you think Im a 'Racist' because I will not acknowledge that Nubians built the Pyramids.
    Wow.

Can you imagine all the 'Racists' who will not agree that the Colossus at Rhodes was not built by Nubians either!!

I bet there are 'Racists' in your local College who wont believe that Nubians helped build the Hanging Gardens either!!!!

Some Racists do not acknowledge Nubians built StoneHedge! Racists!

Just out of curiousity... why the heck do YOU think Nubians built the Pyramids?
Egyptians were not up to the task?

Please put up or shut up.
    Thanks

Does it really matter what color Jesus was? Would you stop believing in him if someone could prove he was black, yellow, red or whatever color?

Are you asking someone in particular or just asking a general question?

As far as I know.. everyone in here has already established they would maintain their faith as always - regardless of Jesus colouring.

[Except maybe BlackyG, who thinks that if Jesus colouring was White - it would cause schoolchildren to become 'Nazi's'.]

    For what its worth..

We dont know what the Apostles looked like either, although we do have some evidence.
Paul is depicted in portraits and statues fairly consistanly in early churches throughout all of Asia Minor.
He is almost always portrayed as Short, Stocky and Bald and having Dark Black Hair (or whats left of it) and usually a short black beard.

Is it Proof - No of course not.

Is it possibly the typically Dark-Haired peoples of that area simply portrayed him in looks common to themselves - yes.

Does this mean we are Racists if we portray Paul as being 'Middle-Eastern Looking' and not Black or Nubian?
    Of course not.

I dont know of Paul being described as short?

There was a guy named Zaccheus who was very short in stature and could not see over peoples heads.

Paul does mention his appreciation to on congregation who accepted him 'Despite his physical appearance'.
No one is sure what this means but it seems to suggest he had some physical deformity/disability of some kind.
    (at that time at least)

I was not aware of that.

Is there some texts or ancient depictions which indicate that?
