I heard paris is a shit hole. I've never been myself, just what i heard.. im sure there are some nice parts of it though
I went to Paris when I was 14. I often wonder what I would think of it now as an adult because kids see things much differently than adults do. The memories I have of it don't make me want to go back to see what I would think of it now. I'm glad I went but have no desire to go back. A lot of the people were assholes.
The only big cities where I experienced hate at first sight were Dallas, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida. I don't like anything about them. Eventually, I got tired of Atlanta, from having to go there too much on business, and I found New York City to be highly over-rated. It takes forever to get around.
There are some cities where there might be a consensus that they're not that good, but you'll always find some people that love or hate a city. I loved Phoenix when I visited. Haven't been there during the summer though, which is probably a lot less pleasant. I've never been to Detroit, but I haven't heard too many people say good things about it, and my guess is that even it's defenders would admit that it's kinda fucked up.

Phoenix and Miami would be on my top 10. Although I'm sure I could find a way to like them both if I spent some time there under the right circumstances. Honestly there were things I really liked about Phoenix but it's a tough place to be at the same time. Miami...I really didn't spend much time there, just didn't like the feeling there...at all. I don't hate D.C. but it's not fun getting lost. In general I'm not fond of suburbs or super crowded cities but it just depends on what you're there for, when, for how long and who with.
Seems like everywhere is worse…I love London - I have to.Paris can be fun if you know what to do and where to go.The Parisians can be a bit standoffish and arrogant though.
