@ChaoticAK yes they were great! I started reading sci-fi really young, and would get to spend every afternoon after school at the local library. I'm still working on Bowl of Heaven... I'll review it in a day or so.
to summarize, Intro to Russian (it's a good resource/has a supplementary website with audio...), Computerized Accounting w/ QuickBooks 2020, Introduction to Accounting, & Microsoft Office (I forget which product year) for Computer Applications class.
Finished “Verity” by Colleen Hoover, and it’s one of those books you can read again and again, and the mystery gets better. Verity is about a journalist who has been asked to finish a novel series by the husband of his injured wife, who is unable to write due to her condition. It’s riveting, scary, creepy, and mind-bending. I actually was a bit afraid to go to sleep when I’d read it. Not normally a fan of fiction but this is well done. I hope it is made into a film.
I just scooped up a book of 5 Travis McGee novels by John MacDonald. Currently its 'A Tan and Sandy Silence'. Mike Rowe talks about these books pretty often on his podcast, so I decided to give them a whirl. So far so good!
Mike Rowe the Dirty Jobs guy? My husband watches him all the time on various Discovery Channel shows. Never heard him mention any books. I am currently reading Odd Billy Todd by N. C. Reed. It is under discussion now in the New Hip Forums Book Club thread.
This is the guy! I love his shows. Never heard him mention them at all on tv, but if you follow his podcast 'That's the Way I Heard It', he's mentioned his fondness of Travis McGee books many times
Thought it would be interesting to read a book written by a former Secretary of State about a Secretary of State, also penned by an accomplished mystery writer. I am enjoying this novel.
well, I bought one; don't know about reading it. "Tales of Manas" Tales of Manas: Kyrgyz epos Manas Paperback – May 23, 2018 by Mar Baijiev (Author), Akylay Baimatova (Translator)
Giancarlo Pajetta , Il ragazzo rosso (The red boy), 1983. Autobiography of a prominent Italian Communist and Partisan military leader. As a boy he was expelled from high school and directly hauled to prison because of his allegiance to the P.C.I. He was sentenced to 2 , then 21 years and served in total 11 until he was released in 1943 when the fascist government was dissolved and Mussolini arrested. After the war he was a top leader of the party all along until death in 1990.
It's raining cats and dogs, the fireplace is crackling, I'm sipping some fine Xmas grappa and just about to snuggle up and read King's new novel : Gwendy's Last Task ( 1 incld in the SK trilogy).
