my cousing is a registered conservative. he wanted the two conservative parties in canada to join so there was an acutal opposition ot the liberal party...jsut because he's a registered conservative doesnt mean he votes conservative, or supports anything they stand for. being a registered independant don't mean jack.
the difference between jon and bill is jon asks open questions...bill doesnt, and cuts people off to finish their answer....
and if you can't see the right wing bias on everything fox related...thats just sad

Oriley is on Fox News, and it is an op/ed show, so he has the right to say or do what he wants. If you watched his interview with the Pres you'd have seen him disagree with Bush multiple times on key domestic issues.

Do you even watch Fox News ever? Or do you just believe what all the Liberals say about it. Take a political science class on identifying bias and you'll find by watching all the networks that Fox is as balanced as it gets. The reason it comes across as Conservatively biased is because it is the only news channel that even reports what conservatives think at all. Unlike every other news channel that has a liberal agenda, Fox actually tries to let Conservatives have a say in the debate. Sorry, but you are wrong again.

Oh, and being registered Independent means that you don't party-line vote or play the bipartisan card, guy.

Don't ever tell me you understand America or its politics better than I do. You don't live here and I do. No disrespect intended, but you are in a country that has a reputation for liberal bias, but I don't mean to say that I know more about your country than you do. So, show me the same respect please.

fantastically put. Though i don't have enough knowledge on the subject, therefore i have no prefered side on this, you prove a valid point that many people chose to ignore. [IMG]

And Canada is a heavily liberal bias country, and it makes me sick.

I love it when people on college campuses complain about all the professors being liberals - or when people complain about colleges being too liberal, etc.

I just tell them this. The truth can and will set you free. When we become truly educated, it simply becomes clear that the liberal position is the one that is a) morally right b) logically sound, and c) best for the future of our society.

In other words... professers are liberal because they are highly educated.

and for anyone who would deny the overwhelming conservative bias in the mainstream press, I suspect that it is because you have never even been exposed to the left wing position. It has long since been forced almost entirely underground since Rupie et. al. bought all the outlets.

...and on the off chance that you actually are familiar with the true left, then I would tend to lump you in with the types of people who believe we never landed on the moon.

Sorry buddy, but your entire elementary through high school education was in fact Liberally biased. I am not a conservative. I believe that we need a balance of both. Being liberal doesn't mean you are more educated by any means, but nor does being conservative. In saying that you can be labeled as "smarter" or "more educated" just from being liberal is assinine and ridiculous. In my experience (I used to believe everything I read and heard too) it seems that if you're gonna play that game, then liberals come off as wishy washy, ignorant, and they appear to have a dellusional interpretation on what goes on in the world. Liberals think that you can just talk people into peace when there are many world leaders and countries that will not listen to words alone or at all. It is unrealistic to think that you can just say "please?" and all nations will give power up or weapons to you for the sake of peace. Also, liberalism is extremely close to Socialism. The overall goal of Socialism is to make the economic inequality of the class structure permanent. This is what the Democrats want. They want to remain rich while the middle class pays for all the freebies given to the prolitariat class. As for the Republicans, or reservatives as they should be called, they have one major flaw: the gay marriage issue. Aside from their brash foreign policy (the policy that keeps us all alive right now) and their full fledged belief in the Patriot Act (which allows unprcedented search and seizure of any suspected American as well as immigrant, but serves the main purpose of allowing the FBI and CIA to communicate) they have a major failing in the gay rights issue. To say that your core belief is to have less gov't involvement in your personal life and then go and support a constitutional ban on gay marriage is just plain hypocracy. The government should not have any right to invade your sexual and emotional relationships. They say that being gay is just a sexual relationship, but I think they are wrong as hell. It seems perfectly logical for two gay people to love eachother, and if 2 American consenting adults want to get married in this country, then they should have the goddamn right to. Liberals always complain and speculate about corruption in the GOP that they cannot prove. They are by nature conspiracy theorists, and yet they wish to be more involved with the U.N. The United Nations is one of the most corrupt government bodies in the world (if not the most, but I need more information on Halliburton before I make that call).

The reason you don't find a lot of conservatives on a college/high school campus is due to the liberal favoritism amongst professors and teachers. This is a fact, I have seen it, and I have grown up in it. Both of my parents are teachers, and I myself work at a for profit business college. As the librarian here, I have access to a cache of news all day in the down time I am allotted. So to infer that I must be ignorant or less educated just because I can see the liberal lies and bias that is everywhere is complete bullshit. I am a well read man, and I try to listen to both sides of the story before making a stab at judgement of any situation, but at the same time I realize, like you should, that we won't ever know what happens exactly in the inner circles of either party. That is why we should abolish the 2 party system.

Just remember that both sides are politicians, it is their job to suade your opinion, and they are all liars to some degree. Being liberal makes you just as much a fucktard as being conservative. Either way you will part-line vote and try your best to discredit the opposing party. If you are liberal, you are biased. The End.
