    I'm excited about this year.

My wife and I are going to spend 3 weeks in South Africa for Christmas. We're flying into Joburg, heading up to Kruger for a safari, and then taking the train down to Capetown to meet a buddy flying in from Angola.

For February, a buddy from Canada is going to meet us in Rwanda for a gorilla trek, and then maybe some down time in Mombasa for beers and beach time.

Then June, we are flying to St. Petersburg and taking the trans-Siberian train to Vladivostok (and then Beijing). Afterwards, my wife will go visit her parents and I will go to North Korea for a week.

What are you doing this year? Big plans?

Nothing too great. I live close to LA so, maybe spending the weekend there sometime and going clubbing.

I'll be going to see my mum in Bognor Regis at some point.

As King George V said: "Bugger Bognor!"

North Korea, interesting. Business or pleasure?

I am going to do a road trip next spring, i havent really planned my route yet but i'm debating either up the east coast, do a couple of days in NYC then to Upstate NY, maybe into Canada if I have time..either that or a southeast trip to Nashville, Memphis, meander down along the MS then spend a couple of days in New Orleans and come back along the Gulf Shores

    I'm leaning towards the latter

Also contemplating a trip to San Fran and Lake Tahoe next fall

Also planning a trip to Belize inside my head but the actual trip will probably have to wait until 2018

Lake Tahoe and San Francisco are both extremely scenic and have great weather during summer. I'd suggest going during that time as opposed to fall.

Here is a picture i took a few years ago over looking part of lake tahoe

Nothing really. Once I straighten out my life I'll do more traveling again. I did get to go to the Redwood Forest last month though.

i plan to travel very little, unless i get a chance to relocate someplace i would like to live better then where i do.
i try to go every year to at least one furry or science fiction convention, and if possible one other.
but always the closest and/or least expensive to get to and attend.

i like riding around seeing new places, but i don't really want the hassle and expense of a personal motor vehicle.
i'd ride buses and trains a lot more, if doing so were cheaper.

air travel is fast, but you don't get to see much of what is in between, which for me, is the whole point of going.

so i do most of my travelling on the internet, where i don't have to carry anything, nor leave anything behind,
but i do get blisters on my butt, forever sitting in front of this computer, so i do get up and ride the local city bus,
even when i don't have shopping to do.

i would love to get around more, but unless i throw or give away everything that won't fit in my bug out bag,
i just don't see doing so as a practical option for myself at this time in my life.

thought i recognized it. i live less then 50 miles from there, and have lived within a hundred miles or so of it, most of my life. including starting kindergarten in truckee, and a couple of times living in the railroad company town of norden, on top of donner summit.

Not sure how it would be for pleasure, seeing as that North Korea is the most oppressive, locked-down country in the world. You can't even go anywhere without an official government "tour guide" by your side at all times. With the exception of perhaps Pyongyang, the country is an absolute hell hole of impoverished, starving people.

Nonetheless, it would be an interesting learning experience.

Nothing planned for the rest of this year at the moment. Nothing abroad anyway. Over Xmas we usually do something, last year we went and watch some dirt track racing so might do that again because that's always fun.

My sister been emailing me all morning saying she's trying to get me something but I'll have to come back to them to get it. So I'm like okay... well what is it? She says she couldn't get it and might be able to try again on Monday. So I ask again well what is it. :D apparently Jerry Seinfeld is touring Australia and she's trying to get me tickets. :) so I probably be back with my family mid next year for that. I usually see them once a year anyway so I'd say I be there anyway.

2018 I plan to head to back over to America. Got some unfinished business to take of. :)

I forgot to mention..... I have a cottage booked in March for a long weekend with my mom amd sister in St. Mary's, GA, which is just a few miles from Cumberland Island which is known for their wild horses. I'm pretty excted about seeing some wild horses on the beach!
