Male Straight Married Middle-aged...I guess but not mentally White Agnostic Egalitarian...I suppose Short hair Self-employed Home-owner Does it matter? No. There are a good number of other things about myself that I value more than anything on that list. IMO...the things that would concern you when you're on your death bed and 5 minutes from dying....those are the things that matter. That topic would make a good thread too.
i answered all of them, because its fun responding to a series of questions like that. but i don't see any of them as pertaining, to what anyone really is. no i'm not really a cat, nor a human. that closest thing to a physical answer, to the over all question, is an undifferentiated blob, of completely non-physical awareness.
Male Straight Single/divorced Late middle age White Other Other Medium PT employed Renter No - it doesn't matter very much - well, maybe it matters to me.
imaginative is not undifferentiated either. or did you mean imaginary. that is not the same as either undifferentiated NOR non-physical. claiming that nothing can be non-physical without being imaginary, is getting back to the same petty ego nonsense, of not wanting to believe anything can exist, without our knowing all about it. whatever it is that i am, it is not what i see in a mirror, nor what you see looking at my physical form, whatever physical form, i might happen to be wearing at the time. whether its a cat a rat an elephant, or a little furry green thing from alpha centauri.
My point is that your claim of undifferentiated is not. You can't legitimately say undifferentiated and then turn around and define parameters of what that means. I didn't claim that nothing can be non-physical without being imaginary. I don't make any claims of non-physical at all, those are your claims. Your physical form is a shadow making image. Everything you think about yourself is conceptual. You are not your image in the mirror simply for the fact that you are not in the mirror. There is no interceding fact that makes the claim you are imaginative false. If you want to consider yourself free from definitive qualities, then don't make comparisons, to do so is ego nonsense. This idea that you are not a human being or that a cat is not a cat or rat is not a rat or an elephant is not an elephant is intellectually stultifying which is why you pose arguments that are self contradictory. To deny the substance of your biology is the height of fantasy. I don't buy the idea that all claims are false unless they are yours while at the same time I recognize that the only truth you will ever be privy to is the one you accept. You are the gatekeeper of your own mind. My position is there is nothing that can't be known. You can avoid this dissection of statements if you consider that each word in a sentence has a meaning which you can regard as a mathematical value. In this way your statements will add up and you won't have words of contradictory meaning cancelling each other out in a reasoned progression.
and my point is that whatever you think anyone is by looking at them, they're something else. something that isn't physical and isn't part of their physical existence.
