Halt & Catch Fire is becoming worth it. I didn't really like it at first - I couldn't get around one of the main characters' ego. But it's become part of the routine now; though maybe just because I'm too lazy to look for something else on Netflix. Mostly I don't watch anything that originated on cable.
Still "Halt & Catch Fire", but with a new twist. One of the main characters may have HIV... I had a buddy who got HIV... sex or needles. either way it's such a tragedy, & I can only imagine the fright and despair he went through coming to the initial realization that his reality was altered. But I think it's something you get accustomed to. The worst STD I ever got was/is (doesn't go away officially...) herpes. Simplex B. It doesn' sound like a big deal, but I hate it and feel dirty. Anyway, I highly recommend "Halt..."
A lecture series on "Everyday Zen" on a subscription service, "The Great Courses". For the most part we don't watch TV; it's just too violent and dark. Neither of us need that sort of thing in our consciousness.
I am enjoying The Mosquito Coast. The book was good. The original movie was awful. The usual Hollyweird treatment went flop. This remake was produced by the author and his nephew is the star... a solid cast and great filming make this real. A brilliant rebel (Justin Theroux) and his wife (Melissa George) take their family on the run to protect them, but end up exposing them to more danger than ever. At every turn of their adventure, they encounter increasing threats and intensifying moral choices from which there’s no turning back. Adapted from the best-selling novel by Paul Theroux.
Have you seen this one? It is amazingly funny... if you like the Handmaid's Tale you'll have a good laugh with this Australian series.
I love all the twists and turns. There is another good show like it, that I did not think I would like but it is enjoyable. The Mosquito Coast. I liked the original book, the first movie was pretty bad, but this new TV series captures the feeling of adventure the book had. I hope they have a second season of this. I know it is AppleTV, but it should be out on the other streaming services also. I found it through KODI.
