Im reading the Bhagavad Gita and from time to time re-reading some chapters from Cannabis Spirituality.

I cant decide what to read next. Either some Nieztche (sp), some essays of Emerson, or (if I but it) the Good Fight by Nader.

"the sixties: years of hope, days of rage" by Tom Gitlin. He was an early president of sds, a harvard freak, and he delivers a fact loaded insight on the times. He starts with the beats of the '50's and works up through the '60's. He did a ton of research and tons of interviews asking people what they thought when these events were taking place. Not easy reading but very substantial.

I read it in bits and pieces over a considerable period of time. Excellent work it is, in my view. Todd Gitlin is featured on Salon, on the issues we're dealing with now. It's at

    http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2003/07/19/gitlin/

(click "free day pass" and watch the quick promo if you're not a subscriber, it's worth it.)

It starts with a little bit of information about Gitlin, and then he's interviewed. in depth about the best tactics for defeating Bush, and the state of the opposition today.

I have been reading speeches by Richard Thieme .. I need a good book, but meh, I got over 3000 pages of text books to read in the next semester, that should keep me somewhat occupied.. I like to find a trippy sort of book, something about the human psyche and stuff. Any recommendations...
