What are you last Metal Cd you bought?

It sounded like Mike Mangini ether held way back in his playing or was held back by the band or Producer. Mangini is every bit as great of a drummer as Pike Portnoy, I have no idea what happened. It sounds like Dream Theater light. I will say it has the best written lyrics of almost every DT album I've listened to and I'm a huge DT fan but I don't necessarily listen to Prog Metal for how well the song is written. I hope they let him loose on the next CD because he's a bad-ass like MP

 

I really liked ADTOE... okay, they've done better albums in their time, but it was mostly great I thought. Mike Mangini is a far better drummer than he showed on that album though. I think he must have been restrained by the band, or the producer. From the evidence of that album, Mike Portnoy is far superior. But Mike Mangini playing at full capacity definitely matches MP. He is a world class drummer. I dunno what happened that his performance was so restrained on ADTOE...

Oh, I also have Iconoclast, and it's amazing!

Heard half of it and I think its good just that sum songs have a long intro thats not neccesary. Pretty catchy chorus and melodies in it.

Rhapsody of Fire - From chaos to eternity.

Great last album for luca to departure from. Kick ass vocal work very memorable songs. Amazing guitar sweepings by Luca and piano wrk by staropoli. I like evrything about this album worth every penny. I cant say theres anything I dislike other then fact that luca last album with fabio on vocals.
