today at work i decided that the funk i've been in is caused by my job. i've been working as a lifeguard there for 6 years. and now its making me depressed. i decided to quit. they dont respect me and dont give me the money i deserve. they are hiring new people at higher wages than i'm getting, people with less experience and maturity. i'm constantly judged by my hair and the way i look, people assume i smoke a lot of pot and i dont care. the truth is i dont smoke and i care extremely about the safety of our swimmers. do i get any respect or acknowledgement?! no, the boss promotes based on nepotism and favoritism.

the pool is run so crappy. there were four managers on duty today and 5 lifeguards. the managers stand around and talk to each other while the lifeguards aren't even changing stations on time or obeying the rules. what makes the managers fit for their position? they dont know how to guard a pool, test chemicals, or manage employees. but they do speak Portuguese to the maintenance. rant rant rant.

im quitting tomorrow or saturday. they've scheduled me for three 9 hour shifts this week because they are so short on guards. well fuck that. i dont want to work more than a 5 hour shift becuse im pulling out my eye teeth just sitting there wasting my time on minimum wage. fuck that, worked there 6 years and saved 6 lives to get a 75 cent raise and absolutely no respect.

i guess im gonna miss some people. mostly the ladies i've met, really gorgeous and fit lifeguards. but there are more girls out there.

blaaaaaaaaaah. drug test tomorrow. i haven't done any drugs in over 6 months so ill be fine.

dude, im totally awesome. quitting my job to paint and make silk screen prints. getting a tattoo next week. ive got a hawt dancer girl who wants to be my girlfriend. im going to art school in two weeks and i have awesome parents who support me. yay

 

I'm burnt out on my job. meh. I have to work a 52 hour shift this weekend...basically all weekend....and I have to sit through another 3 hour mormon service on sunday with my client! Those things slay me! Absolutely brutal.
Today I got to work out at the gym for 2 hours which is nice...however I went during prime meat time. All the girlies with make-up on in their revealing work out gear...and all the guys pumping iron while looking to see who's watching them. I felt like I was in the middle of a national geographic special! It was kind of amusing yet also akward to watch.
I ordered a food dehydrator and it arrived today!!!!! I instantly went to work on making some fruit roll ups! They should be done in 2 more hours. Yumnom.

I have been mad busy, I'm buying a house down south with the bf, looks like we are going to (finally) get approved for a loan. so excited to have more space.. a yard.. and design my own place. and for just a little more than we're paying now, tho I will miss living downtown. I got signed to an agency and am doing Austin fashion week. trying to get film roles. got tickets to mumford and sons. taking sewing classes in a few weeks. life ish good.. busy.. good

Ugh what kind of job do you have that you have to go to church services with clients? I am sorry. I came from a momo town and have heard how dreadful and long the services are.

 

I'm helping my daughter reconnect her messenger link. It's fucking impossible (not really, just difficult) because I'm sending her instructions by E-mail. I need to be hands-on to really know what the fuck is going on. Not to worry, I know it will be fixed.

 

I think I caught a cold/chest infection from my dad's partner. Feeling all phleghmy >< My immune system is shit! She was always at least 2m away from me yesterday ¬¬ (rough approximation.. I don't have a ruler and order people to stay 2m away from me when they have a cold/chest infection. Though, now I think I should. I'll make it 3m.)

 

today i got a phone call when i was half asleep about working a music festival which was very wierd, hopefully i didnt sound like too much of an idiot on the phone

Went into town, brought a rocket blower and some djarum blacks (one freedom Americans are now denied) and a very nice fake peli-case (well generic watertight ABS hardcase with a purge valve) that the cashier 'accidentally' rang up at £25 (was supposed to be on offer at £50, but he couldn't find the price) so Im going to start ripping out foam and stick my camera in it.

Then it rained 1 metric fuckton and I was a good 1/2 mile from the van so I got very wet. When I got home there was a lovely letter from HMRC saying I owe them £970, so I had to phone them and sit on hold for 1/2 an hour to get it sorted.

Now I shall fucking sleep.

EDIT: Oh yeah I brought some copies of deadline magazine from a comic dealer, just for shits and giggles (and tank girl nostalgia)
