summer where i come from sucks. i'll take winter any day. as long as it's not a miserable effing west coast of ireland winter.

 

nymphs still on my friend list, I seem to remember her logging in about 3 months ago.

managed to burn the motor out on the vac today, thats about all.

 

My toaster is toast, I put in some teacakes pressed the button, it started to spark inside and bang, fooking shit myself, changed the fuse but no luck

 

Started working on transplanting some Bamboo (No Pun intended) from somewhere it can spread to an old bathtub I decided would make a nice planter.
Cooked my first Acorn Squash and thought "wow those look like Pumpkin seeds!", found they could be roasted just the same (thanks Google!) and holy shit they're good.
Did a boatload of web research on soap making and the local indigenous plants I can press oil from for the same.

nymph, I had a look at her through pypes profile..think she was on her way out when we came along mandy. she seemed to post a lot before. And yeah, her hair did look like it just came outta rollers..

 

Trying to cancel an order for a christmas present on I wantoneofthose.com convieniently there's a problem on the site so I can't. Grrrrrr. I decided to get Cuban cigars instead.

 

I got late to work because the stupid bus broke down, but hopefully the rest of my day was fine. My boss decided to buy coffee and pastries for everyone in the office this afternoon, that was a sweet treat. I had a left-over of an awesome osso bucco for dinner, that my man cooked yesterday with love and devotion, then I had a bath with lots of foam and worked a bit on my new set of hairfalls. They're all red, made with a mix of fake hair, tubular crin, ribbons, tulle, with plenty of beads and sparkling stuff. I make this set outrageously long, some of the dreads will go up to my knees. They're gonna be sick, sick, sick!

last night we drank tequila with these guys we been working with, got stupid high and built a campfire. our water got turned the fuck off cause my idiot neighbor didn't pay her bills, the city fucked up and turned ours off. it's been off for like 24 hours and I can't get a human being to help, Im fucking parched and I'm having wet dreams about baths.

 

dude utility troubles are the worst! i will never forgive duke fucking power for letting us go without lights and heat for two weeks in february! wtf? fucking monopolies. i need to find a co-op.
anyways, yesterday i finished my last paper(!) and an exam. one more exam and i'm done for the semester! yesterday was me and my sweet's first anniversary.
today i am working. then altering a gorgeous vintage velvet dress i bought!

 

I have errands to run this morning and then hubby's xmas party tonight. Yes... um... it's gonna rock... :S But I am getting out of the house away from the kiddies for a few hours so that's a bonus.

 

i hate work christmas parties.

 

me too...I never go to them...I have one next monday that all my coworkers keep hassling me to attend...but they are just so damn akward.

 

I've not been to fond of them either, the thought of getting drunk with your co workers watching them make asses of themselves, it's more embarrasing for you than them lol If I do go I watch what I drink, don't get too drunk

got my water turned back on after lots of time on the phone and lack of sleep... now I have 2 hours to shower, watch a video and write a paper. GO.

 

the only thing work christmas parties are good for is the free booze. if you're clever you can work it so you get up enough of a buzz to be a good platform for the drinking you're going to do later in the night with your friends, but not too much that you make a fool of yourself in front of your co-workers.

 

Can't bring weed cuz, well, that would likely not look good on hubby. And no free booze. But will likely try and get a good buzz on.

I loved Christmas parties when I was 15-21 and worked with ppl my age and with similar interests. Since I've become an *ahem* "adult" I have never enjoyed them. They are so forced and weird. And then someone that is too drunk tries to make you dance. And you both look like idiots. Arg...

Funny thing is, hubby looks very straight edged. I imagine he'll get a few looks tonight cuz I have only met two of his colleagues. Should be very interesting.

 

Forgot to add that I'm grateful I picked up three shirts at Value Village for the DJ a couple weeks ago cuz I don't think I would have had anything to wear if I hadn't. VV for the win!! 3 shirts for $15!!!
