Me too, and some Oranje Juice, I got my hands on some Oxycodone and hopefully some Morphine, so there is no need to drink tonight :)

eww....you should totally try sailor jerry's spiced navy rum instead of captain morgans....more than 10% higher ABV, much less syrupy, and an all around better flavor (tastes of cherrys, caramel, and spice to me)

its not really more expensive either, i dont think

no worries man! i just think captain morgans is way overpriced for what it is....its too thick and syrupy, and only 35% ABV....sailor jerry's isn't well known, but very tasty, and at 46% ABV you get much more bang for your buck, too.

though i'll admit i DO like captain morgan's private stock

just went and picked up tips from work....bought a bottle of sailor jerry's because this thread got me remembering how much i like it, and i am trying to collect all the different bottles (i dont know how many different ones there are, but the inside of the back label on each bottle has a picture on it that you cant see until you drink the rum. i've collected four different pictures so far, hopefully i didnt buy a repeat!)

i was extremely tempted to spend the extra two bucks to get a bottle of shochu though, but i decided against it because its fucking freezing outside and i cant afford a very well heated apartment at the moment, so 92 proof sounded a lot better to me than 50 proof....

someday soon, though, i'll get to try it!

well budweiser is pretty bad, imo, but if you like it then it's all good. i mean hell, it's hard to beat the price! though i think stroh's and genessee succeed in beating the price....cheaper and actually somewhat better quality than bud, imo.

but you should try some other beers, there are a TON that will far surpass budweiser. even if you can't justify spending money on better beers all the time, they make a good treat.

what part of florida are you from, btw? i dont know if it's available outside the keys, but the key west brewery's "sunset ale" is pretty good, and while its not my favorite i would definitely recommend it. but thats the only florida microbrewery i know of.

yeah, blue moon is pretty decent, really. so is most of the samuel adams lineup. try some new things!

last night i had a big 22oz bottle of gulden draak...much fruitier malts than i remembered. it's been a while...i thoroughly enjoyed it though. as well as the beer i had a few shots of sailor jerry's....a decent amount of rum and a big bottle of really strong beer, along with getting up too early for work yesterday put me in bed (well, in couch, anyway) by like 9:30 last night [IMG]

Tonight I am drinking Brooklyn Brewery's Monster Barleywine Ale -- a very strong, ass-kicking beer clocking in at a whopping 11.8% ABV. I've only had one so far and I'm already buzzed. This is definitely a sipping beer, and one that would go great with a quality cigar. On the other hand, there are much better barleywines out there, but this isn't too shabby at all.

Being in a place with not-so-great beer distribution I love it when I'm able to snag some nice beers while travelling. Today has been a great day and I'm in an awesome mood so I've decided to crack open a few of these 'special' bottles. Unibroue's La Frigante, North Coast Brother Thelonious and, to top it off, Bell's Expedition Stout.

I've tried the Expedition Stout but I haven't tried the other two so I look forward to it. Forsight tells me that it will be a tipsy day. ;)

i got stoli, vermouth, and sake....so i've got stuff for a very limited number of cocktails, but a very limited number of DELICOUS cocktails....

thinking of picking up some inexpensive gin so i can try a regular martini....but i'm on a budget. i personally think that gordon's vodka (only about 10 bucks a fifth) is better than a few higher priced vodkas (specifically smirnoff, which i despise)

but i've never had gordon's gin, though i've seen it....so has anyone here tried it? is it good? it fits the budget, and if its fine for martinis than thats good enough for me...
