You know what? These two girls came down to visit that I deal with business, they are brokers, so I took them around with my son. And now he is asleep and I didnt get the sake! BUT, my cousin is here, so I may just go and get it if he will stay in the house. I wasnt planning on it after the visit, but now that I've finished a half blunt of some headies, I'm feeling up to it! Do you have any reccomondations?
BTW Hop Wallop is great, but then again Im a major hop fan lol

Tonight I have a six-pack of Leffe Blonde (which is a very average and overpriced beer that is at the bottom of my list for Belgian ales) and two La Fin du Monde's left over from last night.

Two types of rum, a bit of Jack Daniels, and a cup or two of cola thrown in for good measures.

    i've had a bottle of heineken...blegh...

but now im drinking a scotch on the rocks....

later i've got a samuel smith's winter welcome ale, and a new beer for me....traquair house jacobite ale (a spiced scotch ale)...

if i want more i'll have another heineken, but i have to be at work at 7am, so i probably wont have much more.

as for sake, relayer, its much like beer or wine....there are a TON of different types and flavor profiles, but if you haven't had much of it in the past its likely to mostly taste largely similar. id say if you want to just try it, theres no harm in getting an affordably priced bottle. something standard like gekkeikan or ozeki should do. even cheap sake tastes wonderful to me, so i usually dont buy top shelf stuff....i usually dont get the cheapest, either, though i dont really mind cheap sake.

    Uck - I hate liquorice.

I'll be having either a Becks Light or an Amstel Light.

    *sigh*

Anybody know a good light beer?

Light, as in color, or as in calorie content? I don't ever drink calorie-light beer, and I only ever drink light colored beers every once in a while, usually at a show or something in summer heat. Anyways, back to the point, I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale okay. It's nice and subtle and smooth. I just tried Terrapin Rye Pale Ale (I think they're from GA)the other day, out of curiosity, and it was okay, but a little "beery" for my usual stout, chocolaty tastes. I might have a Guinness tonight if Ian's in the mood when he gets home... )

just finished a nice sized cuervo gold margarita (on the rocks rather than blended)

just delicious.....i guess if i wanted REAL quality i'd make my own, but i've never really been big on tequila or margaritas. every once in a long while i love margaritas, but its not really my "thing" most of the time.....this is the only kind i've paid for, and its tasty enough i've not felt the need to buy anything else or make my own....plus its made with grand marnier and as such has a unique flavor....a little bit orangey.....also its higher ABV than other premixed margaritas ive seen.....
may have another drink. already i have a buzz, though....

I am drinking 'Old Man Winter' by the Southern Tier Brewing Co. It's in the olde ale style and clocks in at around 7.5% ABV

well my folks got last minute tickets to the colts game, so that means i'm dogsitting and getting paid in good food.....they bought me a bottle of some inexpensive but quite tasty pinot noir, a piece of wildcaught yellowfin tuna, a large potato to bake, and some fresh broccoli.

i went to the grocery to get beer and just stared and stared....same old stuff, nothing terrifically exciting. i really wanted pilsner urquell but they didnt have it, so after a while i decided to try something new, so i went for the great lakes brewing company "dortmunder gold" - a pretty tasty german style lager. i actually like it a lot, at halfway through the glass. pretty tasty.

i'm marinading the fish in some of the wine with some herbs and seasoning and lemon/lime juice, and will cook it on the grill wrapped in foil lined with olive oil.

the potato was washed, rubbed in oil as well, and wrapped in foil and is in the oven.

the broccoli is just being steamed......

i'm pretty content tonight with my middies, considering i'm getting a damn fine dinner for free and have beer and wine (more than i can drink, in fact!) :)
