St. Bernardus is pretty good, Pressed Rat. Have you tried Chimay ?

BTW, I'm drinking Abita Pilsner at the moment.

Boatmade Ginger Beer. Half a pound of ginger root.12 cloves. 1 cinnamon stick. 9 quarts cool water. 5 and a half cups demerara or raw sugar. Half a cup lemon or lime juice. One quarter cup raisins.Half a liter ginger beer from previous batch or (new starter, combine 1 quart water and half cup sugar in a saucepan and heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Allow to cool to 90 to 115 degrees F,then add half teaspoon baker's yeast.Stirring well. Pour into a clean 1- quart soda bottle and let sit for two to four days. To use, pour off half the liquid and shake gently to distribute the yeast.) Peel ginger root, cut into half -inch cubes, and crush with a hammer.Add crushed ginger, cloves and cinnamon stick to two quarts water in a large saucepan.Simmer for 30 minutes.Gradually add sugar and stir until completely dissolved, then pour it all into a large,wide-mouthed container.Add remaining ingredients, starter last. Shake well, cap tightly, and allow to rest for 24 to 48 hours. After a day or two of fermentation, the raisins will have risen to the surface and be surrounded by a light froth of bubbles.(If not, shake again and let sit another day.)Shake well, then strain into clean plastic bottles.Recipe makes 10 quarts.Important: Use only bottles that have held carbonated beverages. Cap tightly and allow to rest for at least 24 hours before moving to icebox or refrigarator.Consume within five weeks (three weeks if unrefrigerated.)Try variations flavored with local fruit:limes(good) grapefruit (delicious),and mango (disastrous).Add a splash of Caribbean rum, and it's one heck of a cocktail.

Peels- I don't care if they're bitch beer. Anything Pomegranate flavored owns my heart. And they kinda get you fucked up at a decent rate for being so wimpy looking.

well i'm trying to save some money up for a trip to europe, so out of necessity i will be needing to cut WAY back on my luxury spending (most of my money goes to bills, after that its beer, cigars, wine, liquor and expensive foods)

so right now i'm working my way through a box of franzia "burgundy." its not great, not going to win any awards soon, but it is more or less palatable and it's dirt cheap. for the price of a decent bottle of wine you get over five bottle's worth, and considering its not undrinkable (to my tastes, anyway) and it's about 12% ABV, it makes it a pretty good way to not spend so much money on booze. i'd much rather drink cheap wine than cheap beer or liquor. i figure i ought to make this stuff a staple, and maybe buy some good beer or a good bottle of wine only once in a while.

also i'm reducing how much i'm spending on my smoking habits. just placed an order for 45 cigars.....25 flor de oliva gold toros, and 20 sancho panza extra fuerte cordobas (really spicy, strong coronas i'm going to save for the colder months when i want a smaller but stronger cigar) all for less than 80 bucks including shipping....thats less than 2 bucks a peice, and i've had both of these cigars and they ARE pretty good despite the prices.

hmm....drinking boxes of franzia....saving money may make a proper wino out of me....

what i wouldn't give for a couple bottles of old rasputin or taddy porter!

well, its my day off (only one this week) and yesterday i got a raise, so i thought i'd treat myself to some good beer today. as long as i dont drink the good stuff and nothing but good stuff every night i should still be saving money.....but i got myself a sixpack of spaten because its a warm, humid day and i wanted a crisp, refreshing lager and this certainly fits that description....and also a bottle of samuel smith's oatmeal stout for later in the day when i'm smoking my stogie.....

will probably have a glass or two of the wine to supplement this so that i dont drink all my beer today.....i'd like to have some later in the week, too.

    Sorry about the late reply.
Pimm's #1 is a gin-based, and tea-colored liquor. Pimm's makes 6 cups, each with a different base...№1 is based on gin, №2 on whisky, №3 on brandy, №4 on rum, №5 on rye and №6 on vodka.
To make the Pimm's Cup, you shake together 1 part Pimm's #1, 3 parts lemonade and add sprite to fill. Borage is a traditional garnish, but I do love the modern cuke, instead. (I love cukes with anything gin.) A lot of Brits also add lime, orange, mint, strawberries, apples or lemon.
For a modified, I just drop in 1.5 oz of gin or vodka, to your taste.

I drank some more 2c-E(approx. 22mg) about 7 hours ago. This shit has been crazy. At some points I had to close my eyes because I became blinded by the colors created by 2c-E. I have been very tired and even slept on the couch for 2 hours, and woke up still tripping. I am about to go smoke a bowl and drink some Crystal Light.
