cleaning up some old storm windows that some jackass decided to drop off here years ago...not worth the trouble for the aluminum frames but im just so tired of having broken glass around the yard and free dump week is coming so im loading up the trailer with glass (and keeping the frames for next scrap load)
Watching South Florida being taken apart by Hurricane Irma although the storm doesn't have anywhere near the punch it had a few days ago. If Irma had maintained it's intensity the path of devastation would have been epic Hotwater
I am sorry to those of you disappointed that Irma did not hit New York. Just back from Cape Cod. great time......swam in ocean...day at the beach...ate plenty of seafood.....Good to get away.....Tried that lobster roll at McDonalds's...That is great! They do not have it here...only in Cape Cod that I have found. Now back to problems....ugh. Spanky and kitten were boarded with my vet, so Spanky is still hanging on and home today again....so i get to watch him die again.......I am 50/50 about putting him down and Stan refuses....as long as Spanky still shows interest in life and is not writhing in pain.....I see Spanky getting weaker and thinner by the day..... Kitten has not blended in yet with the dogs and other cats yet.....He is scared shit...and Minxy cat is scared of kitten, so kitten has his own room for now.....I hope he blends in before the end of the year.. I only had a couple of days to work with the kitten before we had to board him with the vet for many days. 3 pugs were boarded with a person that watches dogs.....and my neighbor looked after other 2 cats and birds here while we were away. It is so great to be able to trust people that much. They are great. Diabetic Moxy pug and Sully, the golden, came with us....Moxy is diabetic and I have to give her insulin twice a day. I tried to blend the kitten down here from high on the table a little while ago..., but kitten jumped down and 4 pugs chased him and had him cornered......and the kitten was spitting and fighting like a wild cat that I have never seen. i could not get the pugs away, so i rescued the kitten and swept him up....Of course, I got my hands deeply scratched all over and punctured .....so I have to keep an eye on that now.
Relaxing after the last week of non-stop hysteria over Hurricane Irma. I've never been so grateful for electricity as I am today since my friends' house was out, and we stayed over last night.
Drinking coffee and multi-tasking between, you know, doing my actual job, and chatting with you good folks.
reading backwards through this thread to try and find where i said anything even remotely interesting in it. finally found it on page 3. last time i said anything was page 11. i did walk up to the senior center and back. may do that again tomarrow. not bad weather here today. i need to start donating things i'm not likely to ever need or use again. also some of my books. the ones that no longer interest me. wish i lived in what i would consider a free country. one where i could build whatever i wanted to live in, and live in whatever i wanted to build. just glad i've got a roof, a fridge, and this computer.
Well, here I am , all by my lonesome, and ain't nobody gonna know. All of you guys are against me. Kill me.
Right now I'm in a hot bath but time has eluded me and I really want to have been in here for at least 30 minutes but it's prolly like 15.
At home, my office is closed today from the hurricane, and I was thinking about going to Starbucks, but heard everything is still closed except grocery stores and some gas stations. :bigcry:
resting my back and waiting for those damn parts to get here..tracking says they are out for delivery
Looking out the window, amazed that two days ago, the weather looked so different. And finding out that I don't have to go into work again tomorrow. I guess my building is dealing with a power outage still from the storm. It's amazing to me how weak our electrical grid is, in the US. This was a CAT 1, and over a million people are without power still? What?
Just left doctors office. We know who the culprit is. Where it is And how to get rid of it. I'm in a good place. Mentally
just got back from a ride to a pit with the neighbour now im resting my ears ...we shot off a lot of sks rounds
As for me? Seeing if I can travel anywhere tomorrow into Thursday, while I've got my vacation to work with. All is quiet here in the northeast, from Maine to Washington DC. CBS News said almost 7 million people have no power in the southeastern US. Some people were being allowed back to the upper Florida Keys, but the southernmost ones are still off limits.
