    Hello,

I recently bought a book for one buck at this internet auction thing. I thought it was a book about old hiking trails in a landscape I lived once or about the 'hikes' people made to go to their work places and back home in the twentieth century. But it was a book about intinerant preachers and how they convert they clientele. Well, the book has one or two laughs in it, but all in all I'm a bit disappointed. Spending the one buck in beer or ice cream would have been more fun ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

Just started Soul of a Highlander by Melissa Mayhue last night. I needed a lighter read after my last two books.

A marina near me has a free book pile and I saw someone had dropped off Journey to Ixtlan so I'm revisiting Castaneda and Don Juan.

Just finished a three volume fantasy The Swords Trilogy by Michael Moorcock, he's good at creating strange worlds, civilizations and transporting you there.

Do you like Heart of Darkness?

I had to read it for a class last semester, and I did, but I just did not get into it. I don't know. I felt like it all went over my head. I didn't enjoy it at all.

And then I had to watch the movie...

Maybe I'm doing the wrong degree... :D

For One More Day by Mitch Albom. Depressing. I know... but cathartic.

Did you know that the script of 'Apocalypse Now' was based on this?

Conrad was a master of language.
