Read this awhile ago- -really good stuff- Herr(photo-journalist) lives thru ,and documents the war in a rock and rock style that would make HST proud
Re-reading The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair. Pretty fair take on employer-employee relations, to say the least. Read it 50 years ago. Helped me form some political attitudes.
Although a classic, very few people understand this book. I believe it is one of the most important books of the 20th century, but few agree it seems, especially in the realm of academic philosophy. If anyone really wishes to discuss it, start a thread in the Philo forum. Many here at the site claim to have read it, but in over ten years here no one has really started a discussion on it. If you enjoy Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: In Inquiry into Values, get Pirsig's Lila: In Inquiry into Morals.....its better.
Ha! No wonder you have trouble over in the political forum! Upton Sinclair! That socialist, communist, pre-hippie, progressive liberal. No wonder you have been brain washed by the intellectual, Illuminati, scumbag NWO college professor types. I'm surprised. Throw that away and go read Ayn Rand before it's too late.
Two very interesting topics have recently reared themselves. I am currently quite interested and reading all I can locate on both subjects. 1. Cousin marriage occurs when two folks marry having the same grand parent. This is a common pratice in less developed , 3rd world , muslim nations. Danish historian , Nick Sennels has spent years researching and studying this phenom. Sennels goes on to link current terrorism to 1400 years of islamic "cousin marriage". After years of noticing "cultural" differences , sennels researched and wrote Muslims and Westerners the Psychological Difference. Read it. Could save Western Civilization. 2. Next, for the 50 yr. anniversary of the Kennedy assassination let me reccommend Killing Kennedy. I like the new theory ; JFK had the goods on a false fed. NWO insiders got him ; like us all, JFK wanted a look at Fort Knox, Guess what?
I'm also reading Self Perception: The Psychology of Personal Awareness along with American Aurora, because its a smaller book and easier to carry around.
