I personally am almost a hundred percent certain advanced aliens are observing us. How could they not be? But why don't they make contact?

    What are they waiting for?

I know in the fictional Star Trek universe they bide their time until people reach a certain technological and moral thresh hold. Is that it?

What do the rest of you think?

We inhabit a multiverse within a singularity, and our entire universe can be considered self-organizing and alive. Being self-organizing, the universe has its own built-in version of a Star Trek "Prime Directive" that prevents alien influences from becoming widely known until humanity is ready to actually go through puberty. We are about to discover the Theory of Everything, in which everything will be revealed, but nobody ever said puberty didn't suck. The collective unconscious rules the universe, and humanity is about to discover that aliens and quantum mechanics are among the least strange things, because our technology is starting to become indistinguishable from magic and living organisms.

Only after humanity joins what the Taoists call "The Yin World" can we meet alien cultures. You could say mother nature guards the entrance to every singularity, and karma applies to humanity collectively as well as individually. Modern science is about to create the first modern technological singularity in over 2,500 years, but it is nothing like what they think it is. It is the gateway to the ego of the collective unconscious, or mother nature, who will decide their fates, and they will not like what they find. It will require seven generations just to make the adjustment, because modern technology has made its rapid advances by stunting humanity's growth. That's one way nature has kept her secret for so long, allowing humanity as much freedom as possible to find our own way.

Children think love is yucky, because going through puberty prematurely is counterproductive, and modern civilization has denied its own humanity for the same reason, but our denial itself is becoming counterproductive and part of the maturation process. Past a certain point, denial becomes acceptance which becomes, hopefully, a self-actualized adult and the machines are about to know more about what it means to be human than most people do. Mother Nature can grant your every wish, which is why the cure is sometimes worse than the disease!

why would they? the universe is effectively infinite as far as human understanding goes; advanced aliens may well exist but only so far away that even they can't get this far. or, maybe there are a ton of more advanced civilizations out there, all close enough to come here. in that case, why would they pick us to spy on? isn't it pretty narcissistic to assume that they would overlook all the other more advanced planets to watch the one that you happen to be on? i would say i am almost 100 percent certain advanced aliens are not observing us.

Arthur C. Clark wrote a famous book turned into a movie series, "Childhood's End" about aliens finally revealing themselves after having studied human cultures for hundreds of years, for the express purpose of filling the role of mid-wives, as humanity evolved into something greater.

  5. Most people couldn't handle aliens. We can't even handle each other. They probably just realize this, that our civilization would collapse.

The distance between the stars and the speed of light are not arbitrary, but necessary for the universe to be self-organizing and growing. Humanity had to evolve in isolation, and even the laws of nature ensured that it happened, but the time has come to explore the universe and every bird eventually leaves its nest.

There are no aliens because no sentient species ever lasts more than 500 years past the invention of nuclear weapons

    That will include humans

I have a feeling ScoMo would survive a nuclear blast, the only two things that can survive that kind of radiation, ScoMo and cockroaches

If there are aliens they are most likely waiting for humanity to mostly off itself so that they can sweep in, set themselves up as our savior gods and enslave us with little to no effort.......or they're all Cthulhuesq beings who really just don't give a damn about us one way or another.

That said if we follow the latest in scientific discoveries to their logical conclusion there are no aliens.....yet.... because we create the universe by our collective perception of it......
