Shamelessly promoting the band of a friend of mine, the band's name is LEFT. Enjoy!

I just discovered this band a few days ago. They are pretty good imo, and they are from Dublin. Also check out their song High Hopes if you like the following.

i really like k'naan, although his last album was disappointing. he sold out... but then apologized for putting out a shitty product so i'll forgive him if the next one is back to normal.

other than that, i just listen to old punk (nofx) and a few local bands.

these guys are from around here, they put on a great live show:

i don't agree with this at all. There are a ton of good bands making music today. Even in my town I can think of at least a dozen local bands that are amazing. Good music doesn't neccessarily make millions of dollars anymore but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

This does not say anything about the question of this topic from my point of view. Unless you think those are the best bands?

    edit:

Same here... although I'm not sure about the local bands in my town :p

Lol well you and fairlight couldn't be more wrong. The music scene these days is incredibly dynamic such that it's a damn full time job just keeping up with half of the amazing artists out there.

Stop sourcing your opinions on things from mainstream avenues that don't even scratch the surface.
