So I just made a deal with my dude to buy "sticks" but I realized after the fact that I have no fucking clue what those are and I couldn't look it up online very well so could someone help me out here? Do you smoke them? Like what's the deal here?

The only "stick" I know of would be Thai stick which was known as good marijuana in the 70's. I hope he doesn't intend to sell you the stems of buds. They would have a small amount of THC but you it's not worth it unless you wanted to throw A LOT together and make oil or cannabutter. And even then it's not going to be as high of a quality then if you used flower.
