    SARAH

Dad visited me today, we went for another rour round the island- we went to my new favourite beach, cliffs, multicoloured sand, crystal clear waarrmmm water, UH it was heaven. Got my sandals all wet. Got my toes all sandy. Then went for chips at my new favourite chip shop, UH it was heavenly. Then went to a craft gallery thing, got some good ideas for what I want to be making. Then went to an artshop and got 4 new little sketchbooks for drawingzz in, sponges, new brushes, a putty rubber (waited so long to have one of these) THEN went to pizza hut for dinner but was soo busy, service was shit, but pizza was nom. Went to sainsburys and bought a million basics pot noodles, nom. Also bought some laptop speakers, anddd a little home-photography-studio-thing with some lights, mini tripod, background cube thing, will be really useful to photograph my beads and shizz ^^ Also got some good advice from dad about plans for the future and where I should be thinking about looking to work, so gonna research some possible alternatives to glass in the art sector for a career ^^

    Sup homie :p

I got told today that my male doppelganger is Newton Faulkner. Apparently he did some stuff with Noel Fielding, who is the male version of the girl who told me of mine. She saw it as looking into a parallel universe :0

I've got endless pool and internets and food and TV access, lazy awesome sarah week will be grand. I've also got to make a point to post some pics of my rad do, keep wanting to comb and have lovely curly long red hair, but meh, too much work.

After advice from Dad yesterday I'm looking at alternative careers instead of glass blowing- just in case it isn't feasible for me to do (for reasons such as... well... I can't really think of a reason...). I Just realised I could do an MA in something. I remembered Art Therapy, and I reckon it could be really good- I'm really interested in psychology and I'd want to help people, especially kids.

Downsides to glassblowing: it's just decorative, I won't be helping anyone. It will take years to get to a stage where I know what I'm doing- otherwise I'll be stuck at the bottom (probably).
Upsides: I'll be able to continue to make my own work (not sure how many pieces per week)- this is really important to me. Glass is freakin' awesome.

Downsides to other careers/art therapy: 2 more years in education, however many years before that working to fund it. A whole new world of stuff to learn.
Upsides: Will be able to help people. Finally do something in psychology. Rewarding (as in helping a kid to speak, as opposed to seeing a glass vase on a shelf)

First day back at uni and am loving one of my new subjects! Though it was only an introductory lecture, I really found it interesting and looking forward to the rest of it. This is a conservation and ecology subject.

Then I nearly stood on an Eastern brown snake walking home from uni - Second most toxic snake venom in ze world. Was taking a shortcut through a area of kinda semi-long, paddocky type grass with my head down. Got to about less than a metre away from stepping on this snake which at the time only had about a 40cm section of its body exposed. The head and tail were covered by tufts of grass. Being fond of snakes I just kinda got a bit of a shock for getting so close then stepped back fairly casually not realising what it was till it pulled it's head out and lunged at me for near a metre before turning back and racing into the longer grass. So of course then I half shat myself and hopped back a good few metres. Tried to follow to get a better look then, though by that stage it was on a mission into the long bits so I left it.

There's a bunch of bushfires just up behind us, like they came to within 50m of this place so that probably drove it down.

Then tonight I had a lot of steak and food to make up for the lack of food from the past few days. And now I've just watched a few videos on TED about different things such as the arrow of time and entropy, another about compassion, one about fractals in african villages and another about kinda crazy/mental illess things.

So varied day so far :D

Long day at work- m.e. getting me earlier each day. Been aching to make my own work today to remind me why I like glass but didn't get a chance.

I'm watching Dr. Feeeeel about step parent/ children relationships and their role in divorce, and I thought to myself "Hm, this has happened to my family, I could be on Dr. Phil..." but then I thought about the rest of my family and we're more fit for Jerry Springer, but theeeen I thought that if we're being on TV it's not going to be about a tranny stealing my man and my mom, it'd be a small claims court show!
So Judge Mathis it is then. I love me some judge Mathis.

Finally got the internet in my house! Yuupppieee!

Went to see Iron Maiden on Sunday, was freaking mental, loved every second of it (well, maybe except the bit where I was on the Boy's shoulders and the guy behind us deliberately pushed us over...). So want to go again!
