if insanity invalidated consent, there would be no tea party republicans. i don't mean to imply they're alone, but they kind of stand out as an obvious example. money seems to have bought the illusion of sanity for those who were born into enough of it. but again, to judge what people who love each other, do with each other, for a few hours escape from the greater insanity, the values of the mundane culture that surrounds them, have inflicted on them, is itself the real nonsense and insanity.
